New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Needing to match the size of the Ricoh is a bit misleading IMO as the Ricoh was never designed to be full ever week. If anyone went to one of those meetings with Richardson where he showed you the model of the new stadium he had in the HR boardroom he was very clear that the stadium capacity was...

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Is that £106m just for the land and building required for the stadium itself or the entire complex (hotel, arena, shopping centre etc) that was built as part of the project?

Sounds positive, will give it a listen for myself later. Hopefully the penny has finally dropped. Even people like Matton must see the response to his tweet yesterday and realise the public support they had is disappearing.

Forum Statement on New Stadium Announcement

We started bigger at the Ricoh and for years have had one of the emptiest grounds in the country. The way to indicate to our owners we need a bigger capacity is for people to turn up.

Getting closer. Warwickshire members being allowed into Edgbaston for their friendly against Worcester. Reduced capacity and you have to reserve your seat.

    Villa out of bottom 3

Good chance Villa could stay up thanks to Hawkeye not being switched on in the Sheff Utd game.

    Russia Report

On the one hand its comical how much happens in such a short space of time but on the other hand it is very worrying that pretty much on a daily basis we are seeing multiple things that 10-15 years ago would have, at the very least, been a serious issue for the government. This is all going on...

    Football is back!!!! Premier League

FFS, Watford getting hammered and have lost their goal difference advantage over Villa. If Villa beat Arsenal tonight they are out of the relegation zone with one game to go. That will be against West Ham who are already safe.

    Shamima Begum Not Allowed Back.

Under what legal framework? The SDF are currently detaining her while an acknowledged legal process is worked through. What is being suggested is that we ignore the law and do our own thing. Should that happen for what reason would the SDF continue to hold her and prevent her travelling to the UK?

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Is this the most negative thing the Telegraph have ever written about Wasps? Although the article somehow manages to also come to the conclusion that us not being there, and having another stadium in the city, will make it easier for them to sell the naming rights.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Something like the University of Phoenix Stadium will do for me! They actually have a pitch that slides out underneath one of the stands into the car park like the Ricoh was originally supposed to have.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Should we get to that point I think it would be very wise for as many people as possible to contact their local representative urging support for any plans. Might fire in an email now anyway, won't do any harm to let them know the people they represent expect them not to do anything to block a...

    Shamima Begum Not Allowed Back.

As I said thats fine but if you're taking that stance how would you implement it on a practical level. Making someone stateless is against International law so lets assume we decide to ignore that and do it anyway how do you get other countries to cooperate? We don't want her here so why are you...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

There's a train for about 10 people. As long as you didn't want to go to anything that was on in the first 10 or so years the stadium was open that would be fine! Wasn't a travel plan part of the planning agreement that involved buses being run from all over the city. That soon got forgotten about.

    Shamima Begum Not Allowed Back.

So the logical conclusion is you need to change the system. Thats a perfectly valid argument to have but how would that work in practice? If we decide to ignore international law and make people stateless are we expecting other countries to co-operate and take these people for us? IMO the more...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Living not too far away from the Uni I've been pleasantly surprised to see the local face book group, who are usual in uproar about pretty much anything, has been virtually all positive comments so far.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Welcome that to be honest. Much better to have a bit of professionalism and just keep quiet and get on with the job. Any info will likely come from the club and / or uni, the council can just be left to get on with their job. Still if no-one from the council involved will come on not sure its...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

If a potential stadium is where I'm thinking (near the sports centre) then that is one of two sites the University have identified for a major parking hub. Their plan is to close the existing car parks around the campus and move to two large car parks on the edge of the site. One would be near...
