If we had it wouldn't make a jot of difference to our season.

Match Thread Coventry City v Derby County

It is not realism because your expectations are unrealistic. Nobody has said it is an easy league to get out off. Nobody has said the current squad will get us promotion. I think most feel it is going to be a season of consolidation and a 10-12th finish would be decent. The incoming players...

Never judge a season on any pre season friendly whatever the circumstances. Even the first four proper League games!

    Transfer Rumours

14 in 76 games. Scored most his goals in League 2. Also at 29 doesn't fit the potential for development profile.

    Momentum and optimism... gone?

I did have the embarrassment of my Staffie and my Patterdale arguing over who caught the squirrel first on the Memorial Park golf course. It turned into a tug of war right next to the main path on a busy Sunday afternoon. Both dogs had one eye on me and kept wheeling away from me so I couldn't...

    Transfer Rumours

Not a rumour but looking at what's out there, Kayden Jackson and Billy Kee had a good partnership at Accrington last year. Jackson is young enough for development potential and Kee has a bit more experience at 27 and come through some tough times.

    Momentum and optimism... gone?

It will be a tough season but I think we can do okay. I think Ponticelli will come of age, Allassani will improve as it goes on and Andreu is going to be really good. I will be happy if we finish 10th or 12. If we are flirting with the play offs come end of the season that would be a bonus...

    Momentum and optimism... gone?

I You obviously haven't got a Patterdale Terrier, she looks up, then gets on her hind legs and starts barking at the squirrel. Given the opportunity she will start climbing the tree.

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

No I think he is trying to sign Chaplin. Most the transfer out fees go towards running costs, agents fees and wages. The loans are a back up for when you don't get your deals across the line in the transfer window. One option if Portsmouth sign someone late in window, could be to loan Chaplin...

    Momentum and optimism... gone?

The difference between last season and this from an attacking point of view: No McNulty. Add Andreu, Jones, Allassani, and a maturing Ponticelli. Plus we have strengthened at fullback positions and centre of midfield. I think goals will be spread throughout the team more.

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

So you are saying he is scared of moving and being a first choice striker? That is bollocks. He has his head down for a Portsmouth shirt.

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

Why is his hands tied? If he wants away he can say to Jackett I want a move to Coventry and I don't want to play for Portsmouth, in fact I won't. Seems to me he is happy fighting for his place until they succeed in bringing a new striker in. To me a good attitude. Chaplin's first choice is...

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

Portsmouth/Jackett are realising they are better sticking rather than twisting. Chaplin seems happy at the club as long as he gets a fair shot at first team football. He is certainly staking a claim preseason suggesting he is happy rather than discontented. Why do Portsmouth need the money...
