If we had made McNulty stay there is no guarantee he would have been banging goals in for us. Also in that scenario his value would have fallen.

I am sure Robins working with McNulty day to day and having the opportunity to speak face to face is better placed to make a decision if it was right to sell McNulty rather than you. Replacing McNulty is difficult, but it doesn't make the decision to sell wrong.
