    Transfer Rumour Jack Clarke

No shock that a young player isn't breaking through at Spurs. Was more wondering why 2 teams he's been loaned to have barely had him on the pitch.

    Transfer Rumour Jack Clarke

What's the story here? Played one season for Leeds, appearing in 25 games, and then signed by Spurs for millions. Has only played 2 Europa League games for them since. Last season he was loaned out twice and only managed 3 starts in cup competitions, taken off in all 3 games, and came on as sub...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Is he grandstanding? He was one of 52 MPs who abstained, he wasn't even one of the 73 MPs who voted against it. Not sure why anyone is really concerned about how he votes, he's no longer leader, in fact he's not even a Labour MP. How he votes is pretty much insignificant in a parliament where...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Not sure it will work like that. If Brexit is a success the Conservatives will claim the credit. If its a disaster anytime Starmer brings up anything about it being a bad deal it will just be batted away with 'you voted for it'.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

"The problem is not the schools the issue is the spread from the mixing of households that naturally takes place in schools" That's a hell of a quote from Johnson, not sure he realises what he's said there. Empty school buildings are safe but schools with kids in aren't.

Certainly not my view but I think getting public support for a strike during a pandemic would be very tricky. As you say this is something where Labour should be totally behind the teachers.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

The situation in Greenwich is weird. The local authority tried to close schools early before Christmas due to an increasing rate of infections. This resulted in the government threatening them with legal action and forcing them to stay open. The government then shut schools early before...

Most of the country is in tier 4, the highest tier possible at present, so surely all those areas are very high rates of infection and therefore schools will be closed?

Would be quicker just to say who isn't in tier 4! Is there any difference between what you're allowed to do in tier 4 and what was allowed in national lockdown?

We've ordered 100 million doses so if we hit anywhere near the production numbers they are saying we should have enough doses to cover the 1m vaccinations a week target.

The BBC rolling news feed says the factory that has been setup to produce the vaccine has capacity for 250 million doses a year. That's 4.8m a week so way above the 1m people a week we are aiming to vaccinate. Hopefully that will mean we won't hit issues with vaccine availability.

Manufacturing has been increased but I suspect its more complicated than just needing more space. It will need specialist equipment working in optimal conditions and this isn't off the shelf kit. Even if you have manufacturing capacity you're still reliant on the supply of materials. For...

FFS, how on earth are we two down in this game. Its hard enough in this division without making mistakes that gift the opposition goals. Given our goalscoring record there's no chance of even getting a point now from a game we should be winning.

Wasn't really suggesting that it was possible for everyone if they close schools tomorrow, just wondering how people who home school in non-pandemic times manage it.

This sort of thing won't help. If you look on the Welsh government site it states "people must stay at home, except for very limited purposes", then read to the bottom of this article where there's a Welsh chap saying people are sticking to the rules as they are only travelling to places up to...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Not for a moment suggesting that its a viable option but home schooling is a thing even when we're not in a pandemic isn't it? What do they do about getting kids through exams, surely you can't just decide your kids aren't following the national framework and won't learn the usual curriculum &...

    Postponed Matches investigation

The initial failed tests were two named players, Jesus and Walker, and two staff. The additional failed tests just said after testing players and staff which makes me wonder if any additional players were ruled out.
