I thought we missed Hamer's creativity on Saturday rather than Kelly's defence. I have Championed Kelly, in Lge 2 Lge1 and Championship. Very good player and we will miss him. I still think our priority is a central atracking midfielder who can play behind the striker.

Hamer, Sheaf and Pask can play there. Allen and Shipley at a push alonside another DMP. What we really lack is a central attacking midfield player who can play in the hole. Make runs behind and feed off the forward.

Pask seemed to be a decent signing, but hasnt managed to impose himself on the first team or kick on which is a shame. Eccles is a promising young player getting game time with Gillingham and is better off plying his trade there this season.

I don't think the tactics were necessarilly negative yesterday. Yes the players may have put in a lacklustre performance and failed to get forward especially in the first half. I dont think it was down to tactics - just a failure to make the system work.
