As others have said £3m is loose change to a PL club. As long as this is added to the playing budget, all well and good. Get a Carey plus that Oxford centre half, plus battle hardened players ready to supplement our youngsters. Team improvement and we should have half a chance next season.

The £500,000 figure should be turned down for definite. We have him on a long term contract and only a figure circa £2M plus add ons should be considered. If he went we would need to strengthen and unless it was an out of contract player (whose wages tend to be higher) we will have to reinvest...

Agree - provided we know the type of player we are after then, in our current need to balance budgets, this is fine. The only thing I don't like is having too big a turnover all at once as it takes time for the team to gel (during which half the players are written off as sh*te). Nobody still...

Agree - it will be really interesting to see where Lee Burge goes; as someone else said, surely others who are / have been interested will have spotted the flaws in his game (good at making saves, the rest generally weak) and unless he has a cast iron agreement, I'd be nervous if I was the club...

Meaning you haven't decided yet, as this description doesn't reveal a lot either? That's not a criticism of the description, just a slightly unusual choice of a word to describe a player. I haven't seen enough of him myself to make my mind up.
