    Match Thread Cardiff City (A)

I dont necessarily think the season is dead despite last nights disapointing performance. However winning at home is essential back up with consistent away draws or a win in one of three away games. A run needs to be put together March to Easter. We need to get some momentum back. I agree...

And that is typical of football - you pick players up when you can and within your budget.. Good signings can pancake and average signings can blossom. It is why the January transfer window is so difficult. Everyone knows what they need - but no one wants to sell unless at an inflated price...

For me it didnt matter who we had or didnt have up front. It was the none existant quality ball into the box. We managed one over 90 mins. You can argue all daylong whether he should of scored or not - but he got it on target and forced the keeper into a very good save. I think the keeper...

One over 90 minutes. Their striker had two good opportunities in first half and was subbed before half time. They scored twice in the second half. When they atteacked they looked far more threatening than us. Despite all our possession in the first half it was like a day off for their two...

All that passing and possession but we never hurt them. Our crosses dont go in early enough, we never change the angle of the cross always want to slide a pass down the side. Both their goals were because players drove into the penalty area with an intent to shoot.

    Guy Whittingham

It is a fair assessment by Whittingham. If you are going to be just an out and out goalscorer you have to be scoring one in two at least.

    Bidwell

People who want 4-4-2 want to play it with out and out wingers. So yes in reality it can become 4-2-4. There is always some fluidity with any formation. We also had fullbacks who were quite attack minded.

    Bidwell

Another example of people making judgements on players too soon. Like fans who are stuck on 4-4-2 and quote how great it was in the 70's. They seem to forget we got battered some weeks - trips to WBA and Everton just scratch the surface.

I will jusf give my input on my experience of drinking lager. If it is a foreign lager brewed in country of origin it is usually pretty good. If it is a foreign lager brewed under licence in Northampton (or another uk post code) it is sub standard shite.

It is just like our fans disrespecting other clubs thought isnt it? Predicting 3-0 wins all the time when form says that isn't likely to happen 😂

    Southampton predictions.

    Southampton 2 v 1 Coventry - after extra time.

    No ambition.

Thats why they weren't the right fit then.

    No ambition.

Perhaps they looked at what was on offer and nothing was quiet the right fit?

That is Barnsley's problem not ours.

    Transfer window

Extra cash about? What about money lost during Covid? Coventry will have their targets and any building will sensibly be done in the summer. Unless one of those targets becomes unexpectedly available. Our best hope this season is flirting with the prospects of the play offs. But in our...

The thing is about buying players to develop them, you don't actually know how they will turn out. Because there are so many factors involved. We have an academy to run and it has its own budget. Fans are too first team focused. Players often develop and move on without making the first...
