TLS Oxford Report - The Gift of the Dab

You tell him Pete ! To be fair, I think he;s right about the slightly 'pragmatic' approach to defending leads. The main problem is neither of our current wingers are a) holding the ball up well enough or b) adding a lot to us defensively - this puts pressure on the rest of the team, which will...

And after that is Burton (don't like the idea of bringing him back for that one, as he may well overdo it against his former club). So for me - it's the game after Burton!!

    Rose tinted glasses

This may be where we have to find out how to use O'Hare effectively. The way he plays you can see him turning games into a basketball style game. he has such an attacking intent that it will be great when we have the ball, but I suspect his positional play defensively may leave us open to...

    Emotions

We were pushed back in the second half, as nobody was holding the ball up, further up the pitch. They were better than us, but that must be measured against a very average performance by us. A few players below par, and so it was commendable to still bag 3 goals. Can't wait for Allen to recover...

Never felt we were fully in control of that game - I said in an earlier post it would be a back and fore game, and it was. Given how we were missing Mason, I'd have taken that beforehand.

Match Thread Oxford United vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 31st Aug

If you've not been before, have a gander around the Natural History museum (free); well worth a visit. Doesn't sound very romantic, but I can recommend it. Nice big park for a romantic stroll too, right near City centre (I get a % from trip advisor!)

    TV Game

Not sure, but given that (imo) the match would have been circa 5,500-6,000 and the Sunday game in the region of 4,000 (I'll still go!) and some away support will go as a matter of 'duty'/new ground etc, I would think the club will still profit, overall. We wold probably have 'lost' more at The...

I've been to the natural History/William Pitt museum and one thing it was not full of was totty - bones and fossils yes. but not totty. Are you sure it was the museum you went to?

More money for the club - plus we should beat them - they are likely strugglers this season imo.

    New chants/songs

It's no good moaning Adge, unless you have a suggestion for a new song..... I'll start one on here - we can all add a line at a time (I'll even let you pick the tune) First line: We've got Matty Godden in attack over to someone else !

    What's the latest with Max?

I got the impression he was suggesting it would only be a loan if the bean counters demanded it (unless he is trying to pass the blame on to others, which I would be disappointed with - prefer him to be open) Although I much prefer Max to Baka, Baka has to be ahead of him in the squad if he is...

Will at least make the bench. I'd like O'Hara in ahead of him. Think this game will be a back and fore job.

    Tennai Watson - Confirmed

....although this guy appeared only 24 times on a season's loan at Wimbledon (don't know if he was injured some of the time). Hopefully (unless he turns out to be a star), he will only be needed on the odd occasion/ Checkatrade games etc.

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

Remember that - he joined oir coaching team later? used to play 5 aside with Micky Gynn at The Sky Blue Connexion along with a few other half decent footballers - used to watch them whilst us mere mortals waited to play on the adjoining pitches.
