    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Think you're mixing up two sets of figures. The ones you see on the news every day are the 'deaths within 28 days of a positive test' so will include some people who didn't die of covid but with it while excluding some who died of covid but more than 28 days after their test. There's then the...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Pretty sure they've done 1 stand open for at least one game this season already. From looking on their forum and social media it seems the regulars are largely people who travel from London / High Wycombe. Was always a tough ask to expect them to travel week in week out, you've got no chance...

Ring Road Junction 7 To remodel Junction 7 including removing the roundabout and Moat Street car park and replace with a direct route from Spon End to the city centre we will: remove the existing roundabout and replace with a new, more direct, road layout controlled by traffic lights...

Two of my three were from my own GP, he did my flu jab as well. The other was from another GP at my surgery.

You can see why rugby don't segregate supporters, it would be too embarrassing for the home team!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Why do they set these ridiculous targets. Its like everything having to be world beating. They know they can do 500K a day so why not say we'll get everyone done by mid-january and give yourself a chance?

Capacity and infrastructure is one thing, although it would need to be in place ready to open tomorrow morning which seems short notice. Getting a million plus people a day to turn up and get jabbed is an entirely different proposition.

To be fair to the government this is the problem. That data isn't there at the moment and of course to get a decent amount of data to analyse they need a lot more people infected with the variant. The time of the year isn't helping as they are clearly trying to avoid putting more restrictions...

Take it you didn't watch Bayern v Barcelona this week if you think the UK is the only country with concerns. Lets hope games don't end up back behind closed doors here.

Baker was on Marr this morning. Doing his best to make the Conservative & Labour front benches look like they're full of geniuses. The talent pool in parliament is astonishingly poor.

    COVID pass

Presumably doubled up with the new powers to strip citizenship anyone who protests can just have that removed and be kicked out the country - one way to sold the anti-vax problem I suppose ;)

    COVID pass

They could. But I think probably less damaging than the self inflicted staffing problems caused by Brexit. But that sort of decision will be taken by experts who will weigh up the risk of less staff against the risk of unvaccinated staff. Or else you're not eligible for the job. Nobody is going...

Vaccinations have been a condition of employment in the NHS long before covid existed.

    COVID pass

Why? Look at the increase in homelessness in recent years, the increase in food bank use, the increasing numbers in poverty. Where's the eruption for those things? If, and its a huge if, we move to mandatory vaccinations it will just be that you can't do certain jobs without being vaccinated...

    COVID pass

Not sure why we're talking about letting people starve but wouldn't the existing rules apply? If you chose not to work you'd get your benefits stopped. Thats what happens now and there's hardly uproar about it. We have things like food banks because there's people who don't receive enough...

    COVID pass

There's millions of people in the UK segregated at the moment through no choice of their own as the medical advice given to them is to avoid places where unvaccinated people are likely to be present. If you're against segregation how can you be OK with those people being segregated in order to...
