EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

True, but as has been shown in previous times, it is the Premier League who hold the power, particularly with their bank balance.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

It is from the EFL, but the Premier League could still get involved.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Maybe it's the Cov pessimist in me, but I am surprised at the confidence on this page. Can definitely see a scenario where majority of clubs choose to play on (although unlikely). Also, it has to go through a vote from the whole EFL, which will inevitably be influenced by the Premier League. If...

    Bolton Troubles

Yeah, that's been rumoured for a long time. As far as I'm concerned any league that doesn't have relegation loses all legitimacy.

    Bolton Troubles

I think this is true for clubs outside the Premier League. In which case surely there's an argument for all EFL clubs to demand more of the pie. Only with a better chance of profit do get get better owners etc. I get that its wishful thinking to fight the power of the Premier League, but you...

    Robins, Please Stop...

Completely agree with this. Robins said one of his aims for this season was a football identity and it's been one of his great successes. Keeping the ball the way to go and we'll get better with it.

    Bolton Troubles

Another club in a financial mess. Thinking out loud, I wonder if the disparity between the top league and the rest is really the issue. Surely there's a case for clubs outside the premier league to come together and demand more support from the top. At some point it's going to be most clubs...

Match Thread Portsmouth vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Monday 22nd Apr

I'm talking more generally then today. I feel a big part of any promotion team is having a top goalscorer...something we have clearly been missing this season.

Fair enough. I'm not saying that Burge is championship quality, but I'm just concerned that we'll end up with someone worse haha....and before people say it...yes that is possible ;)

Match Thread Portsmouth vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Monday 22nd Apr

Controversial opinion, but I was really pleased with the performance today. I thought we played good football but, as has been the story this season, no end product. An out and out striker is a must in the summer. I'm wary about getting rid of Burge. Yes, he is mistake prone, but so are most...

    This Season

If you have told me this would be our final position at the beginning of the season I would have been delighted. Delighted with the football we're playing and Robins as a manager. If more ruthless next season promotion could be achievable. As always though, a lot will depend on recruitment in...

    Easter weekend (make or break)

The amount of times I have told myself the push for the play offs are over and then the weekend after I regain hope again haha

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bristol Rovers Match Thread - Sunday 7th Apr

If we can actually buy a decent goalscorer and keep the rest of the team, I reckon we can challenge next season. My concern is that I reckon we'll lose a bunch of our good players in this transfer market. Therefore this will seem like a missed opportunity.

Match Thread Barnsley vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Mar

A great result in of itself. It has finished off our play off chances though. Time to focus on getting a stadium and recruitment for next year.

    JCH

I'm presuming he won't be able to play against us in a few weeks time. Or is that just wishful thinking on my behalf?

A point might be acceptable if Bristol Rovers hold Doncaster tomorrow, but realistically we need a win to keep hope.

    Bristol Sky Blues Flag

Strange question, but on my last few visits to the Ricoh I have noticed a Bristol Sky Blues flag hanging over the hoardings in the North West Corner. Anybody know anything about this? As a Cov fan based in Bristol myself I'm really intrigued. Perhaps it's worth getting Bristol based supporters...

Would you rather we lost 6-0 to Arsenal or go into extra time at 2-2?

Despite the fact i'm going to the match I think i'd prefer the former. I'm seriously concerned by our league position and I wouldn't want us wasting anymore time on a competition we're not even going to win.
