Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

Can I offer the alternate argument though. If SISU were serious about playing in the City rather than entirely focussed on destroying ACL, wouldn't they try to at least sort out out some sort of five-to-ten year deal based on the offer to the administrator? Financially, for the club, it would...

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

That PR campaign, it's already started. They've got the CET putting out a vote on it already! Much as it irks me, coming as I do from a bitterly anti-SISU perspective, it does make me think that they're already starting to feel a bit of pressure. It can't be long now until the new stadium...

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

I see your point, but I'd contend that the VOA valuation is probably about as relevant to the market price as the CBRE valuation. I'd still argue that the only way to find the true value of the site/business is to put it on the open market.

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

It's a very fair point this, but the problem is exactly that both sides are so far apart. On one side a rental offer for a tenant that doesn't want to rent, on the other a purchase offer for a seller who doesn't want to sell. Haggling usually starts with a willing seller and an interested...

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

It's pretty obvious how this will play out, isn't it? CBRE, paid by SISU, will come (or have already come) to a low valuation to validate an under-market bid by SISU. SISU will ramp up the PR to put pressure on the Council to sell at this price. They've already started on this, or so it would...

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

Absolutely. It's another reason to make sure that true market value is obtained, and all aspects are considered before coming to any deal. Personally, as I've said, I'd sit tight. I'm not buying the SISU line, but regardless the more they lose, the more amenable they might become to a deal...

Who Votes Sell the stadium to SISU

Outstanding post, OSB. My personal opinion is this: Wait for at least a year before panicking about the loss of CCFC, to determine both SISU's true determination to hold onto the club in the face of mounting losses, and whether ACL actually can return a profit. Either a change of ownership...

was it cold enough for woolly gloves today??

In my (much earlier) 11-a-side playing days we once had a manager who wouldn't even let us wear a vest under our kit. Even worse, we had the thinnest short-sleeves-only shirts that year. Tough season. I probably mocked those who wore gloves - I definitely hammered anyone who wore coloured...

    Otium accounts filed!

Spot on. The simple fact is that they'll lose more money at sixfields in front of 2000 than they would have at the Ricoh in front of 12000, even at the original rent figure. And then they'll load another ton of debt on the club to build a new, smaller stadium. (Possibly. If they build it...

    NTFC Official Statement re:ACL

Straight question OSB, under what law could NTFC claim damages or costs from ACL? The case hasn't actually gone to court, has it - it's been withdrawn. Not having a go here, but I've never heard of anyone being able to raise a claim for hurt feelings, and there's no lost business here that I...

    NTFC Official Statement re:ACL

Cardoza wants sympathy and 'costs' for defending a legal action that never even started? Bollocks. If he doesn't get his grubby hands involved, then he doesn't have to worry, and there's actually a chance that SISU and ACL work something out. As for him sueing ACL, on what basis? The case...

    CCFC Ltd Liquidation in progress

Just part of the process. The liquidator is supposed to investigate the conduct of the directors, but on that form Appleton has applied to be liquidator. I think it's subject to a vote whether he's accepted or not, if he is then who knows how thorough that investigation will be.

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

No problem with that. I'm used to everyone disagreeing with me, and I can see what you're saying. ;) At the end of the day, no one listens to either of us anyway - we're just the fans! Hope you have a good weekend, regardless of where you spend (or don't spend) your money. :)

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

Because if you liquidate, you get nothing. If you sell, you get something. The only reason I can see for liquidating, is if you can't sell. It appears there might be buyers out there.

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

Why a small proportion? Do you sit at home on a Saturday now, doing nothing? How many do? If you go out-of-town shopping you're still spending money (possibly at Arena Park!), and you still have to put petrol in your car or catch a bus. Again, there's no effort here at coming to this...

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

I can't see why development of the land depends on the club being there, indeed it might be worth more as something entirely different, like housing or commercial. It might be that the Ricoh businesses are in decline, but I don't think either the exhibition or the casino side of the place is...

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

Even if the 10,000 people did nothing but sit at home every weekend for the twenty odd games, which clearly they don't, where does 50 - 125m come from? The truth surely is that a significant proportion still spend some money hereabouts on a Saturday, indeed they might even increase their...

    Stadium plans

Some intersting points there, but I'm not sure about money pouring in... In any case, Joy herself said 40% equity, 60% debt. On a £20m stadium that leaves £12m for the club to find. Even at 3% p.a. that's £800,000 per year over 20 years if I've done my figures correctly. Even without...

    Why is CT quoting Byng?

Sits next to Tim at Sixfields. Couldn't put together a credible bid because of problem with email. Demands Council sell Arena. I suspect either a plant, or a dreamer. Other than appearing in the media from time to time he's done nothing to appear even vaguely plausible. I'd tend to agree if...

    Les Reid Tweet

What if it wasn't an old boy calling you a scab, Nick? What if it was a few lads, big enough to make even you a bit nervous maybe. I think it's pretty pathetic that fans need to call each other names at all. If a word is being said to cause offence or threaten, then why is it wrong to take...
