Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Is this purely because they end up looking like idiots if it all goes tits up? Too late for that isn't it, Wasps going pop did that. Not seeing the benefit to risking taxpayers money. One of the alleged big selling points of the Wasps deal was that the taxpayer was no longer involved. What do...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Why's he talking about "we are going to be recouping this week. We're going to look at what life in the Championship would be like, we're going to see if there is still the appetite" when the article says he's one of the people who was made redundant? The players will def hang around unpaid...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

That's the rumour, and its a pretty strong rumour. It first came out that structural engineers were called in due to cracks being discovered, which was of course denied by Wasps but they later had to admit it was correct. I wouldn't be confident that any work was done to a high standard, if at...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I'm not really seeing why to be honest. There's plenty of companies similar to the NEC Group around the world that own and operate stadiums that have sports teams as anchor tenants and it doesn't seem to be an issue. Why would it be for us? What are people expecting the NEC to do? They would...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I know we all said this before Wasps turned up but after the disaster its been for them can we really see another team giving it a go? Realistically who could come anywhere close to getting 10K let alone 30K? The NEC Group has been diversifying in the last couple of years into owning and...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

tbh I think the NEC taking over and not giving two hoots about us wouldn't be the worst thing. They can get on with running the hall and putting on events there and we can look after ourselves. Realistically we're not looking at much more than maintaining the pitch and doing that ourselves would...

Not sure that's an argument she's going to win. Truss has already abandoned everything she ran on in her leadership campaign.

Realistically where would they even play, you can't play championship games at the cbs in front of a few hundred. All the 'we just want to watch top class rugby' types would disappear. Doubt many of the old fans from London will still bother to travel for a new club in Coventry. Can't see CRFC...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

If they were including things like stewards in the number and they're already been employed by another company then that brings the number down. Add in the players who are already reported to be on the verge of signing with other clubs and wonder what the more realistic number for people...

I'll take a guess at we're still talking to people and it will all be sorted any day now.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The Telegraph mentions Wasps Holdings is the holding company for Wasps Men, Wasps Ladies, Wasps Netball, the associated coaching and support teams, and the respective Academies and Pathways so I'm guessing all of them. Were Arena Coventry Limited and IEC Experience Limited not part of Wasps...

Which parts have actually gone pop. If the arena is continuing to operate and its basically just the rugby club that have gone that seems a lot of staff.

Don't the terms of the lease mean that the council can take the lease back and, at least temporarily, take over running ACL. Loaning money and the company still being in the control of Wasps should be off the table.

A loan, because that will be paid back :ROFLMAO: Anyway can't possibly true as Duggins was very quick to reply to any emails last week saying this definitely wouldn't happen. If the council are taking over the running of the arena then surely the lease has to revert back to them?

Quick scan seems to show we're not getting the cut in income tax anymore, the energy price guarantee has been cut to 6 months but lenders are already saying its unlikely to have a significant impact on mortgage rates.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Seen that people are starting to ask questions about how, or if, the Champsionsip will be able to accomatde Wasps and Worcester next season. Seems it may not be a foregone conclusion that if either team can survive in some form they will be given a place. Not sure Championship sides who were...
