    Always remember as a kid getting sent up to the hatch in the wall and getting my mum a pint of sherry . There was a pool with pike in it ( apparently) . My dad Use to send us up there for hours fishing trying to catch something but never did , think he just wanted his leg over looking back !!!!

    I was the youngest of 5 brothers so slightly older . I left woodlands school in 79 . We lived Franklin Grove until the council moved us up Jobs lane next to the Star around 75 .

    Me and all my brothers went to Templar’s , my mum was a cleaner there for 30 years . Proper infant/junior school. Shame they knocked it down for houses .

    He did , I bumped into Baz a couple of years ago when I was over in Malaga playing Golf . Got a couple of tickets for Malaga v Barcelona. Got off the coach outside a pub and there he was . Had a great catch up .

    The woodlands was a great pub also , I remember playing football for them and we got through to the final at the Butts .... against the Black Prince ... proper Derby .. 1-1 the final score ... no extra time was played , we shared the cup so there was no afters , even though we all drank together ...

    All my family was member there also , played football for them back in the day , Bingo Tuesday ,Thursday, Friday , Saturday,Sunday dinner and Sunday night .. how sads that Now when you look back !
