    Just suppose

I have several clubs which for interests sake and for assorted reasons I keep tabs on hoping they do well. It is two tiers down from "support" as such - Alloa Athletic, Hibernian, Sheffield Wednesday and MKDons. I'd just carry on doing that.

    Jodi

This is a rash unfathomable business decision made by the club. Apart from a couple of false starts last year, the last time he played was at League 2 level over two years ago. It is completely unknown what the long term impact of the injury will be. We could be playing two tiers higher than...

Pask looks ok. Keep playing Dabo until he gets his quota

Match Thread Rochdale vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Feb

Robins' great achievement in imho is to give us something positive to play for right until the end of the season. People up this thread are "bricking it" How good is that. Except for the last two games last season, we have always been in contention. Compared to the previous 10, 20, 30 seasons...

    next 3

We have had more than our share of narrow wins and draws. Got the rub of the green. Some of these could have gone the other way and some in the future could do so. We have not that many thumping victories, the two 4-1's aside. The Rotherham Sunderland Ipswich threesome is the key. We could...

You have to admit that both goals had a contribution from some seriously :League 2 goalkeeping

    Walsh, O Hare, Dabo

None of them look Premiership level, so if we are promoted there is every chance. There could be a wages issue with Walsh. But as Kelly might struggle at the higher level, having Walsh would be handy

    Free Transfer >>> £££

It is irrelevant. At least three if not more of those were at the end of their contracts, were offered new contracts but turned them down to join us. The money issue at our level is less a matter of club to club , but more club to player, who is a free agent. In the Prem demand for quality...

    Sorry Baka

    Haynes, Vincenti or Beavon surely

    Next 3 games

The last thing we need is to be back in the Prem, grovelling around like Watford or Villa. I'd rather be winning every week in League 1

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Portsmouth Match Thread - Tuesday 11th Feb

Draw would be ok, a win, no matter how, would be awesome. Before the in-match commentators on here moan about how poorly we are playing; given how good Pompey appear to be, we must expect to be dominated for at least part of the game. A bit more flexibility from Robins in terms of personnel...

    Biggest difference this season?

...to which I would add, that if you have no wingers, but two very good (for L 1) attacking full backs and a surfeit of good central defenders, then 3-4-2-1 is a good formation. It just took too long to work it out (people on here were saying it for a while).

    Biggest difference this season?

Brought in better players last summer. The loans are a a bit better than last year, remember how many chances Thomas missed? But the acquisitions are a huge improvement, and there were more of them. Marosi, Dabo, McF, Godden, Allen, Pask. and in effect Rose v Mason, Ogogo, Brown, Baka and...

    Call it now

Portsmouth and Rotherham to be the top 2 - don't know who would be top City, Peterborough, Ipswich and Sunderland - who knows what order Wycombe will not drop out of top 6 until the very end - they have some easy fixtures coming up Donny might just sneak in to the top 6 at Sunderland's...

    Call it now

Not enough goals - it is why we are 5th and not top. And games in hand don't convert.

Have we just become a “Selling Club” or have we always been one?

That is my point..... The cash from a good sale funds the wages for x players acquired for no fee, who add a lot more cumulatively than the departing single star player. Only Godden (and Baka?) cost something. The job of the management is to be smart with the out of contract players - as there...

Have we just become a “Selling Club” or have we always been one?

Fed up with this subject. Every club, even Liverpool sells. The big Italian clubs sell all the time. We are in Tier 3 - by definition we are a selling club. The only question is not whether you are or not a selling club, but whether you are any good at it. The better we become as a selling...
