Bravo on the Father Ted references, first time I've laughed today!

    McSheffrey

Amusingly he was tipped in my mate's Racing Plus paper as League One's top scorer. To use the parlance of the day, I LMAO.

    Portsmouth- what on earth

All their signings are on short-term contracts of a month as that's all they're allowed to do. Birch has given Portpin and the Trust an extra 2 weeks to finalise their bids. What happens next is anyone's guess (particularly as the FL are making it up as they go along)...

    Arsenal Ticket info.

Is it me or does the PR not actually mention when the game is?! I'm assuming it's the Tues 25/9, but it's not in the CCFC fixture list either... Gotta love Cov...

£200k towards the rent and season ticket holders only

According to the FL site...we are entitled to 15% of tickets, so we can ask for 9000. We can ask for more, but this has to be agreed with Arsenal and the FL. Ticket prices have to be mutually agreed, but home ticket prices have to be the same as away ones, so it's likely to be cheap otherwise...

    City on the telly? (again)

Even when we played at Villa in the FA Cup 5th round in '98 we weren't on live. It's all about viewing figures I'm afraid...

    Dennis Wise

I'd love to see him in charge. We need a winning mentality back at the club and Wise sure has that. When did we last win after being behind again?... Edit: He's now 6's with a couple of bookies...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

I think chiefdave sums it up well. The only reason the FL haven't thrown them is that they don't want to be seen as the ones to blame. I can't see how the Trust can come up with enough money and in time. Surely the players won't accept 75% less than the agreed payoffs? Chainrai will go to...

Capital One Cup Draw. 12:30 15/08/12

Didn't hear much complaint when we were seeded for years in the Prem! It's only the second round that's seeded, it's not like Wimbledon.

    Why do clubs buy players

Transfer fees will become less and contacts will become shorter, particularly in the lower leagues, as money is tighter and FFP rules kick in. A 3 year deal is really a 2 year window if a club wants to make a profit

How come footballers can buy houses in days, when it takes everyone else months to complete?...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Exactly. The prev ten point deduction was for going into admin. These punishments are for cheerfully ignoring their prev CVA and screwing charities, small businesses and continuing to overspend massively. I see Kanu has issued the FL with a claim for millions, which if valid, as a 'football...

That's a bit rich coming from the rather rich Gordon Taylor who's on £1m+ a year and said he'd destroy bskyb if they didn't pay him (he got 400k) for phone hacking.. Edit: Taylor received 720k after his lawyers advised bskyb he wanted to be 'vindicated or made rich'. Nice bloke.
