Ticket sales for the semi have started well...

What kind of post is this? How on earth is this supposed to spark a good flame-war? ;)

Fans need to look in the mirror

Blaming the fans for the club's predicament is clearly putting the cart before the horse. What's happened on and off the pitch for the last 15 (or more) years is why we're struggling - that anyone would pay hard=earned cash to watch us at the moment is a testament to how loyal a large section...

Pictures of Cov in the past and Coventry Pubs

The New Phoenix on the A45 mate - run by Roy and Joy at time, a nicer couple you couldn't find. Forgave me all of the times I couldn't get the till to square and bought me the odd pint too. Loved the place.

Did you get much done on Mondays, Wingy? ;) I used to have a Fiat Miafiori too. Cracking car, if somewhat porous in the finest Italian tradition - I guess the holes made it lighter. Five speed!

Pictures of Cov in the past and Coventry Pubs

I used to work in the Phoenix for a while (any photos HH?). In fact, looking back, I pretty much lived in there for a few years. In those days the buggers would be hammering the door ten minutes before opening time and ordering three pints right before closing. Ten minutes to drink up, ten...

CAN WE GET NOTHING RIGHT IN THIS CITY!!

Christ, I've agreed with Shmmee twice. But fair's fair, I agree. I know a couple of councillors, and they're certainly not bad people. However the organisation itself has made some pretty poor decisions, and I've got some questions about the motives (or possibly competence) of some of the key...

Pictures of Cov in the past and Coventry Pubs

Gutted that I never made it into the Codrington, Daz, it always looked like a brilliant pub from the outside but I just never made it into that part of town. The in-laws from Cheylesmore remember it with affection though, so your old man must've been getting something right. :)

    Mowbray's got a new job..

Times must be hard at Chesterfield, at least we don't get our new managers to bring their own football to training. Probably.

England Internationals Would Join Consortium Bid....

I was there! In fairness Brody was a really nice chap to talk to, bit mad but quite good fun. Onye and Paul Clouting (the executive chap who'd been at Derby) were there too. Clouting, if that was his name, was very convincing and professional sounding and clearly had a plan to progress the...

England Internationals Would Join Consortium Bid....

In fairness you probably wouldn't mind having those two around for tea, if it's Micky Quinn though it's going to cost you a few bob in pies and beer...

England Internationals Would Join Consortium Bid....

I think it's this one Nick, OAKWOOD FINANCIAL ADVISERS LIMITED - Overview (free company information from Companies House), the one you linked to has been liquidated. With all due respect to Mr Jaspal, we've been here before and there are a few things about this story that make me nervous...

    red bull again

Yep - I don't think there's any way that the FA/FL would allow us to change our name to "Red Bull Coventry" for example. Mind you, if RB spoke to SISU's solicitors they might say that they've got a chance if they take them on in the courts. ;)

    Mowbray's got a new job..

Spot on. Thoroughly decent bloke, working under difficult conditions. Gave it his best shot, and when it didn't work out had the grace to leave without a fuss and at some personal financial cost to himself. I wish him nothing but success (except for this season if it turns out to be us or them).

    The Butts

Ah, a stretched metaphor, you should perhaps warm up properly before you post. Still, makes a change from your usual straw man arguments I suppose. Basically then, you've got one bloke who gets paid by Wasps and it's easy enough to understand why he supports them. Fans like you supporting...

    Phone in

Loads more people call when we're losing, or if Tim says something daft (redundancy alert), or we're in court etc. Maybe fewer callers is a good thing.

    The Butts

You could be right LAST, though when I was up there earlier in the year and talking to the groundsman he was certainly still working for Masseys. In all honesty I wouldn't think it would suit CUFC's needs for their first team. I know that Masseys own team dropped out of the Midland...

    The Butts

Indeed (if you're talking about HR, the Ricoh was techncially never ours to give up). Either way, it wasn't as stupid and immoral an idea as selling the Ricoh to a franchise - but hell as long as we've given SISU a bloody nose what does that matter, eh?

    The Butts

Some people don't like football Rev, it's just a matter of opinion. At the top level Newcastle Falcons and I think Saracens have fully-synthetic 3G pitches I believe. Not ideal for rugby though; the Desso semi-sythentic ones like Wasps have laid are better for that... Additionally, we had a...

    The Butts

I'm not sure about them buying Masseys in truth mate, the sports and social club have just invested in a new pavilion and other facilities up there. The deal to share with Cov RFC has been on the cards for a little while though - suits both teams I'd say.
