ON THIS DAY: Friday 6th January 1950 - Willie Carr was born in Glasgow.

I was there too - as cold as I've ever been at a football ground. They both got red cards, if I remember correctly. Steve Livingstone (remember him) scored 4 in the replay!

    We're going to beat Gillingham.

Did you? No, she wouldn't let me. (You cross 'em over son, and I'll nod 'em in.) :)

    6 final tickets per STH

If everyone who had a season ticket really had five proper mates, then they'd have better things to do than watching this stuff every other week. :) Joking aside though, even if they did, that's still only 24,000 (correction: 36000!) gone and it's got to account for a reasonable proportion of...

I'm happy to hold the necessary funds in escrow as required. Now if everyone could just send their bank details to me I'll sort it all out, no problem.

Blimey, talk about critical - hope you never come around our house. I spent all day hanging a door yesterday only for the missus to complain that there was a bit of a gap at the top and bottom. Don't worry, no one will ever notice it, I said...

I'm still up for this signing, I really am. I don't see how it could make things any worse. In fact it's hard to think of anything that could make things worse, though I'm sure our owners are wrestling with that one as we speak. :)

    WEMBERLEY!!!!!!

I've still got my original 87 shirt, fwiw. It seems to have shrunk in the wardrobe though. Odd.

Who are you going to Wembley with...

I'm going with Monners because he knows how the trains work and everything and then we'll have ice cream and then we're going to the zoo. :)

I was hoping you could meet us and hold our hands through the station to stop us getting lost. :)

It's going to be a great day. I'm sorry for you missing out on Wembley the first time around, but then I don't half wish that I was 25! :)

    WEMBERLEY!!!!!!

This Wembley trip is for all of those daft buggers that are still going, week in and week out. And then for those of us who think they've lost their love for the club over the decades of constant disappointment, but can't really shake it. And then for the kids, that have literally seen nothing...

She'll be too polite at first. After fifteen years she'll be posting your snagging lists on the fridge every day. ;)

Top man - it'll be brilliant. It's a good feeling doing your own bits and pieces, except for the fact that you'll know and notice every day, every little half-bodge and scratch that you've made, even though no one else will!

Match Thread Coventry v Wycombe Match Thread - Tuesday 7th Feb

Watching from afar and trying to be objective, I actually thought the defence grew into it in the second half. The worst period was the first twenty minutes of the second-half, and then the two-and-a-half hours of added time, obviously!

... then work out how long it'll take to do, and then double that too. :) Joking aside, sounds great. If you've got the location you want then everything else will fall into place over time. Just expect a light covering of building dust on all of your meals for the next year or two.

Ah, my wife's going to the West Indies... Jamaica? No she's going of her own accord. (I think the excitement may be getting to me)

Tell you what, Wasps have bloody ruined that pitch - look at the slope on it! It's almost as bad as Yeovil's old ground. ;)

He might have had a fair point if they didn't employ a one-man wrecking ball as one of their major threats up top! (Wish he played for us though). The pitch did look pretty crap, but neither side seemed to want to spend too much time rolling neat little one-twos all over it... maybe that's why!

And Ainsworth too. Grumbled a little bit about the pitch, but was actually very gracious in defeat and wished us every success in the final. I think he said something about us deserving it as a club that has been through a lot - came over as a very classy chap, imho. I hope Wycombe get the...
