Which classic car would you have?

I'd honestly never heard of these. The twin headlight version is a good looking thing, imho, kind of like a shrunken 2.5PI. I'll add it to the list :) I vaguely recall SA and Australia did some interesting things with our motors, sticking V8s into things like Cortinas and Sierras, if I recall...

Which classic car would you have?

Are you implying that some random Italian bloke knows more about cars than me? I'm hurt. :)

Which classic car would you have?

I completely agree, but as with all things it's each to their own I suppose. Big flashy sports cars always feel a bit ostentatious to me, but I've always liked understated fast saloons. Jag, imho, were the kings of this for a while... I'd still have an E-Type if one was forced on me of...

Which classic car would you have?

And for classic cars, in this order please I'd have: Mk2 Jag - Just the most beautiful car ever built, imho. Mk 1 Escort - So simple, so pretty, so much fun to drive. Mk 3 Cortina - Because it's the one that sticks in mind as having the most laughs in when I first started to drive. They...

Which classic car would you have?

I love these, rare as hen's teeth nowadays. I borrowed a mate's 2.3 Viva for a while, even rarer, but basically the same car. If you get a chance, have a look on YouTube for Gerry Marshall. I never knew much about racing, but he used to drive these sideways for a living before drifting had...

    Cyrille Regis

I miss big Cyrille. He was an awesome player, and by all accounts a terrific person too. Keep those match reports coming if you can, Steve, it takes me back to the days when I couldn't wait to get hold of the pink to read the report on the game I'd just watched! :)

    Matched Betting

Got to appreciate the honesty here. It's not exactly free money, and the reason the bookies do it, of course, is to hook people into a gambling habit. Having said that, stocks and shares aren't entirely risk free either I suppose (not that I've ever had enough money to take a punt at that). My...

    Matched Betting

I probably made somewhere around 500 doing this a while ago, so it is possible. When talking about matched betting, in essence I think of this as taking advantage of the bookies free offers. The way it works is you sign up with a bookies that's offering a "bet £x and we'll give you a free £x...

    Recommend a beer

Me too. Or any cheap, cold lager on a hot day, or something like Bombadier, Timmy Taylor’s, or London Pride if I’m in somewhere like The Nursery and want a warm beer (pub rather than childcare, they don’t like me drinking in the latter for some reason).

2% too. Even I could probably have a couple of those without a hangover the next day, or falling asleep on the table. Yeah, Buzz Lightweight, I know. I suspect some posters here would be having that on their cornflakes for breakfast. :)

Later on Sky’s ‘Reading Tonight’ show, a look through the Royal’s Simod Cup runs of the 1980s. Who are that lot in light blue, by the way?

    W**ps confirm premiership final

Yep, that’s my line on it too. Just because it’s become accepted doesn’t actually make it justified, imho. It’s about making a few more quid at the end of the day, the line about balancing out international call-ups is a bit of a smoke screen to me. Fundamentally if Premiership rugby says...

    W**ps confirm premiership final

I care. I’d like to see them get absolutely hammered. I know, it’s petty, and spiteful, but there you are. They shouldn’t have franchised themselves and in doing so stitched us up, I guess. If or when they finally fold up or move on, the Rugby Premiership will be far less interesting for...

    Wasps downward spiral...

The bond price is a pretty good indication of whether the bond holders see it as a good thing. Personally, I can’t see any way that a company that’s already massively leveraged taking on more debt is a good thing, but maybe that’s just me. I’m also struggling to see how a stadium and...

On this at least, I think they’ve misunderstood that not everything has to be like it was in Hillfields... :)

    Wasps downward spiral...

Without wanting to be unfair to them, they’ve had a bit of that. Bath were spectacularly disorganised too, when that game went to uncontested scrums (which is always a farce, imho) - no way Wasps should have won that one either. Clearly the devil looks after his own. :)

    Wasps downward spiral...

I can’t see anything about Les Reid being sacked anywhere, is this just a rumour? As for Wasps, fair play to them, but their improved on-pitch performance doesn’t make any of their off-pitch shenanigans any less reprehensible, imho.
