Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

For a residential lease, not without reasonable cause. Even for a commercial lease I think it would open up court cases again if they tried to do this just because it was, say, SISU bidding.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Aye, now that Wasps aren't buying any advertising and the Council don't have a dog in the fight (at the moment). The CET is a rag these days, barely any real journalism at all.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

CCC have got nothing to do with it have they? It'll be up to the Administrator now unless I'm missing something or CCC try to claw back the lease. No evidence of the latter, currently at least...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The P share gives access to revenues from the top division of rugby. It's supposed to be sold back to the Premier League (PRL) if a club goes into administration. And in fact, at least one bidder for Wasps had already pulled out because exactly this is going to happen, I can't see what's...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

As I understand it then... Wasps going into administration means that they have to start in the Championship next season, subject to RFU approval (fit & proper owners, 5 year business plan, proof of sustainability etc.). It also means the P shares are sold back to the Premier League at a price...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

49% lets them suckle at the teat of the Prem, in the unlikely event that we ever get there. In essence, it gives them access to the profit but gets them out of the way of whoever actually is throwing money at it. Probably suits both parties, and the Council too if they're still trying to stick...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Even if it's completely fictional, it is at least plausible. I'd be happy with that as an outcome, personally speaking.

It's bollocks anyway, Coventry City were never given the option to bid on a 250 year leasehold. The council only ever offered that to Wasps. Like most Cov Wasps fans, he's struggling with the simple truth of the matter.

I'm not keen on Ashley either in truth, a pretty shabby man in many ways, but I guess I'd prefer him to SISU (assuming he's not out to bleed the club dry). Either way, I guess the administrator won't be needing my tenner now. 😁

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I'm not sure a few thousand fans (at most) every few weeks, and a permanently damaged pitch would make it worthwhile to whoever ends up running the arena. I'm pretty sure that the football side of the club would rather not share the pitch. Edit: Just to add, it would be unethical too. Wasps do...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Too late for Ashley to be involved in the Wasps adminstration, an offer has already been accepted from the "Wasps Legends" (ahem) for the rugby business. https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/63447055 Thank fuck for that too, I wouldn't want them anywhere near the CCFC business. Should never...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Just to add, it's likely to be a good while before Wasps come out of admin, lots of RFU hoops to jump through. I can't see the ACL thing taking anywhere near as long to resolve, but don't hold me to it!

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Completely agree mate, it's just a fair size 'if' at the moment. If they do get a new deal to play at the CBS I'm looking forward to even bigger lies about their attendances. They'll be lucky to get 2000 in the championship once the excitement wears off. If they're going to rent a pitch...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Technically it's not theirs, of course. It would be funny if the new owners of Wasps decided they didn't want to use it, but in reality I'd guess the slimy bastards that stole it from the local community would just sell it for housing anyway and still profit. Stinks, as with most Wasps related...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Absolutely, which really pisses me off when you've got people like Clive on CWR point-blank denying it when it's mentioned by callers. It might be that we'll get the money back later, but right now it's clear that the club had to put the money in up front. That's obviously an unexpected cost...

Stay calm and not react to rumour? Where's the fun in that! Nick would have to close the forum down (and I'd have to do some work too, I suppose). 😄

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Not embarrassing mate, moving here was wrong from the very beginning and they deserved to fail for both that and their staggering hubris, imho. I'm not celebrating a load of people losing their jobs, but if Wasps end up back in London as a championship club it'll feel like the right outcome to...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I'd guess it'll be like Worcester. Relegated to the championship, whole new squad. No lease though, no 'P' shares, but no debt. As long as they bugger off back down south I guess I couldn't care less.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The trustee is supposed to be acting on the bondholders behalf, but has been remarkably inactive so far. However, at some point he's going to be obliged to step in. There's no way he could just let the lease slip away without challenge; if he does you'd think the bondholders would have a serious...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

It's the same issue though, the bondholders have a mortgage on the lease, so they're not going to let it just revert to the council. If either the administrator or the council try to disclaim the lease, I think the bondholder (or at least their trustee) would go to court to stop it happening...
