    Death List 2023

Missed this too. Love Vanishing Point, you can't beat a classic road movie (see also, Two Lane Blacktop, Easy Rider etc. etc.). Barry Newman was superbly, effortlessly, cool in that film. Pretty good in Petrocelli too, as I recall, don't think he ever did finish that house. 🙂

Good thinking. I'll be the one waving a sky blue scarf.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

And yes it does sound a bit careless doesn't it. If I was Prigozhin I'd have been living in a windowless bungalow, eating solely out of tins, avoiding door handles and suspicious underwear, and doing the school run in a tank (that someone else started for me). 😁

    USSR invades Ukraine.

I take your point mate, which is that of a decent human being. Given that it sounds like at least some of the others in the plane were Wagner too though, I'm more of the "fuck 'em and let them rot in hell" opinion. The only thing that could've made it better was if the jet could've crashed...

I'm only attending if I can bring my shinpads, cricket box, and gumshield. Actually, has anyone got a bulletproof vest I can borrow? Asking for a friend. 😄

    Mason Greenwood

I think it's the nature of the crime, Pete, and the fact that people could judge for themselves to some degree based on the social media releases. I'm all for rehabilitation, but for me the offender has to genuinely accept their guilt, that what they did was wrong, and to be absolutely sincere...

Not in this country, Pete, but I fancy he'll go abroad. Saudi Arabia maybe?

    King et al vs SISU

Personally speaking, I'm entirely happy to be rid of SISU but I'm also far too cynical to completely trust King... yet. Off the pitch it's clearly still a bit of a mess, and (imho) they've got the kid's (edit: walk-up) pricing in particular horribly wrong. I hope they'll look at that again. I'm...

Match Thread Swansea City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 19th Aug

Fair result, imho. Could've used a bit of needle and a few tasty tackles to liven it up a bit, perhaps, but I don't think we've got that sort of player in the squad at the moment. No concerns for me - we still look a tidy, well-organised, team and I think there's plenty more to come from this...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

It might be financially expensive, but at the moment the West is grinding down Russia's military without losing a single soldier. From a purely cynical point of view, that's no bad thing, imho - Russia's influence globally has to be significantly impacted by this. I'm not sure if F-16s will...

Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

Stuck in the sticks. Second half is on the Talksport app at least... BBC text commentary suggests we're on top, and they seem to like Milan White Van Man, fwiw. I obviously can't see the game, so I'll be calling CWR later (regardless of the result) to express my displeasure at our performance...

    Hamer

I see your point, but I'd say his job is to do his best on the pitch for us - he's not obliged to make it easy for us to sell him in a particular period. I think it's quite possible that both his agent and the club have been touting him about, just perhaps not to the same clubs! Regardless...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I'm not sure that there's much you can do, mate, other than trying to do the decent thing at an individual level and highlight to others the huge injustices and cruelty where you see them. It doesn't feel like voting will change much - Starmer has no convictions and alternative parties won't...

    Hamer

Politely differ. He's got a contract and he's keeping up his end of it. He's not a piece of meat, and he's got every right to decide what he does next. He's entitled to look after the best interests of himself and his family. If he ends up seeing his contract out and we lose on the transfer...

Match Thread ⚽️ Leicester City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 6th Aug

Well, we lost, but that was a pretty solid performance, imho. Simms grew into it a bit, I thought, and Wright looked a proper handful when he got on too. He's proper quick! And Thomas was exceptional, that was some debut. Lots to be happy with, I'd say, despite the defeat...

Match Thread ⚽️ Leicester City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 6th Aug

To me, it looks a bit like Simms is running the wrong channel a lot of the time. Coming in from the left isn't going to work if he's not happy having a swing at it with his left peg.. their defence has got him sussed at the moment. Too early to worry too much, imho, and to getting to half-time...

    What’s it all about?

It's not making shit up, and it's fuck all to do with being nice. It's about treating people who are different with some respect, figuring out the best way to do that, and not being so absolutely convinced you know it all. It seems you're getting yourself all wound up because you can't bear to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

And in a nutshell, imho, there's the problem. The BOE have only one lever to control inflation - interest rates. Raising them will take money out of people's pockets, but there's very little to suggest that this bout of inflation is a result of paying (most) people too much. In fact real...

    What’s it all about?

There's no way I'm walking a mile in high heels, but other than that I absolutely take your point. Which is concerning. I'm off to pray to at my altar of Corbyn (blessed be his name) in the hope that he can guide me back onto the one true path. 😁
