Love free agency. It's where the merits of a cap system shine.

can actually get the same next year as it's a 2 year repeat deal head coaches and chief execs.

Maybe more teams will now see the advantage of developing black coaches and senior management when they look at how much draft compensation the 49ers picked up. 5 good picks which should produce starting calibre players - some bright spark will put a monetary value on that but it would have to...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Would have thought history teaches that forcing countries to cede territory always brings problems in the future.

squirrel's nice anyway. Isn't it more expensive than chicken in UK? phase when it was often on posh pub menus.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Also buying ammunition from Iran in large quantities. No surprise Ukrainian and Russian stocks running low as few thought a modern conflict would be fought or last this long. Western stocks are struggling to be replenished. Surprise after a year is how Russian industry is unable to supply its...

Caveat is US admits it would take 16 months to train them and the logistical support (maintenance etc) would still be a nightmare.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Narrative has been consistent with any aggressive invader - find any justification and play it up. They continue to hold this line because they've ended up in a protracted conflict that they were not expecting. Took Crimea with little serious international grief. Been fighting in Donbas &...

Saints just need to tear it down - should have a couple of seasons back. Completely unbalanced roster.Be amazed if Carr is the answer- doubt he'll get into year 3 of that contract.

Real concern with China is that it is now (like Russia) a "dictatorial" state. Xi has removed all opposition and competition from within the leadership ranks. Govt continues to bring everything back under its control Inc industry and finance. Like Putin in Russia if there are no dissenting...

Looking for whatever support it can get. Look at the last UN vote on the calibre of country that supported Russia - literally all the misfits.

literally. Their sole aim is to stay alive for the 6 months that then commutes their sentences. Not interested in going forwards, backwards, winning or losing - if they don't have to fire a round for 6 months it's a huge win.

says this every month. Likelihood is that their conscripts are wasting a lot due to lack of training.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Sadly these are probably just conscripts sent to the front literally as "cannon fodder". We've also seen videos here of interviews with families from the poorer regions who are "sending" their men as the death and disability bonuses are comparatively so large in relation to to their normal incomes.

    F1 2023

This is where the "budget limits competition" argument falls down a bit. Aston Martin take a Mercedes engine and complete rear end Inc gearbox and suspension. They give them to a Newey protege and he uses them better than Mercedes does - a cocktail of red bull theory,/design and Mercedes...

    F1 2023

Goes back to my original point is there really a dearth of engineering/ design talent to compete? Mercedes had a prolonged spell "beating" Newey but the exodus of staff 2021/2022 to Red Bull also damaged Mercedes. Aston Martin obviously found someone seeing as the "Mercedes b car" outperformed...

    F1 2023

In season sure. But season to season ( with a ltd number of engine suppliers) the gap should be closing with a budget cap. There's (seemingly) no one special expensive item the RB has that other teams don't. It's how they put things together. Mercedes had the edge for so long then badly went...

    F1 2023

Alonso a nice story but that's ominous for the season. Best car wins by basically a lap and that's with engine settings turned down for large chunk of the race etc. Is there such a dearth of engineers / designers that the other 9 teams just can't find the talent to compete with the top team -...
