    USSR invades Ukraine.

Not the end. We've now launched into a new global arms race. There's a new struggle between US & China for global influence - Russia no longer big enough in its own right to sit at that table. If Russia does kick off again it'll be in states geographically further away from NATO in the likes...

Not sure about that. Whilst Donbas lines maybe "flexible" in the newly annexed areas Russia have set up with heavy defenses rather than prepare them as a springboard for further offense.Ukraine will be having to attack rather than counter-attack in these "new" regions.

Ukraine maybe be better equpped than it was last year but fighting offensively is more difficult and costly in terms of lives as the Russians have found out.

US is key but that election is still18 months away. If China continues to stay away from suppprting Russia militarily clock could run down faster for Russia than for Ukraine. Big factor will be what (if anything) they can achieve when they start to launch their own counter attacks

suppose in the "old days" it would have been the left half, now it would be the right half :) For someone obsessed with "Satanism" and the evil of woke politics shouldn't think putin would touch America with a bargepole

    F1 2023

Theory was the new regulations in 2022 would lead to DRS becoming unnecessary. Nothing more tedious than a middle of the pack DRS train. Hasn't quite worked yet. Part of the problem still remains too many track layouts limit overtaking opportunities despite drivers getting more creative...

He's actually stuck. Teams would have to clear a load of cap space (that most don't have) then if Baltimore match the offer they've potentially wrecked themeselves for nothing. So teams have to offer something so outrageous Baltimore wouldn't match it and then they've probably overpaid too much...

pre-war population 470000 - 60 odd percent ukrainian, 30 odd Russian and some Greeks. Now it's around 100k inc large number of Russian migrant workers. Ukrainians either fled or were shipped out to Russian-held territory when the Russians were flattening the city and the steelworks. Seeing as...

Before Mahomes this year no team had won the superbowl paying the QB more than 13% of their salary cap.

Does not having an agent hinder him? I get the Ravens POV - the Deshaun Watson contract was an absolute joke and a nightmare for teams. Fully guaranteed money etc - It was ridiculous when the Vikings did for Cousins and they've refused to do it since because it was such a bad idea. But...

worth a punt with that young roster but not sure an old Rodgers is the same as an old Brady - different personalities / leadership traits

Could be argued it's a capitalist approach from the NFL and teams as it maximizes earnings through being a competitive national sport. It keeps it very much a national game due to the ability of every team having the potential to be relevant on a fairly frequent basis. One of the reasons...

I'm not making any comparisons with football. Completely different setup. NFL has a controlled built-in feeder system - college football which is a huge product in its own right. Little of what works in NFL would work in football. To start you've only got 32 professional teams in a country...

But it stops a permanent status quo. Middle market teams can compete with the large market teams as finance is equal. Everyone starts with the same cap. everyone (in theory) starts with a minimum of 7 draft picks. You can be poor for a couple of seasons but then have a chance to win/compete...

again it's the merits of a cap and draft system. Bears were a mess so cleared out a lot of cap space, took some beats last season but are now in a position to rebuild in a way few sports permit. Happy for the Vikings to regress this season, hopefully dump the Cousins contract, clear more space...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Like the article suggests it's a political hold. Earlier in the war Ukraine were holding on long enough in conflict points to inflict damage then withdrawing before losses mounted. All the "experts" say Bakmut has little value so seems little point in Ukraine taking casualties other than...
