Ellis Simms playoffs reason not played

It's like dropping down a division, it's that bit easier when you've lost a yard or your touch isn't reliable. Players can still be highly effective but more hit and miss against the better sides.

Ellis Simms playoffs reason not played

He did score a lot of his goals against weaker opposition where he had more time and space, the FA Cup games, Rotherham in the league... I know he scored against some very good teams too but it all needs to be considered together.

Ellis Simms playoffs reason not played

Crikey maybe it just felt like it! Still 46 apps and 7 goals. 26 goals in 99 games across the two season, 1 in 4 (and worse in the league) is a poor return for a CF by any standards, especially when he's not getting the assists either. He'd do better with a move for his own good at this point...

Ellis Simms playoffs reason not played

He's started almost every game this season, I think. Missed a couple with a foot injury, the two playoff games, little else

    Callum Doyle

And after we've spent probably two record fees replacing them there'd be nothing left.

Ellis Simms playoffs reason not played

He didn't play because his season has been hugely disappointing, unfortunately!

    Wright

Our fans chase everyone out in the end. It always has to be somebody's fault. We never know what's really going on! Haji Wright has the same number of goals for the Club as Darren Huckerby and David Speedie. An injury free season would probably have seen him up near Gyokeres. A bit more level...

    The morning after...

I don't know. Mason-Clark and Torp were big misses and Thomas was out too. I think Torp would have given that bit more vision over Sheaf in the playoff games certainly.

    Ellis simms

Haji 19 goals season one, 12 goals in half a season this year. 31 goals in total - are you mad?

Such a shame it was all decided by that back pass in the 1st leg. I expect that a good number of players will move on and we'll be rebuilding again in August.

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 13th May

I think Frank accepted that starting BTA was a mistake. We thought so here before the game. Ellis isn't working out and it's forcing Haji out of position, where he's much less effective. He has to drop deeper than he did at times last season with the back four. It's really the EMC's injury...

    Our midfield

Sheaf's miss, completely unchallenged, from the pen spot was an absolute howler! He did start deeper but he swapped with Grimes quite early on. He always has a couple of mistakes in him and he can't hit the target. That will really limit his sale value, unfortunately.

    Hamer - Championship PotS

Hamer is a PL player every day of the week. He looked class in a very poor SU side last year. He's under contract at SU and they wanted to rebuild around him (aided by the cheating parachute money) so it would have taken a lot of cash to prise him away.

    Who would you sell?

    Of course.

    Who would you sell?

I think King's on record as saying that there will be money due to Brighton. Might be wrong.
  18. S

    Who would you sell?

No, we never really know anything but all the talk is of a fee closer to £50m when he does move. Sporting will need to sell on so there would have to be a big fight over him for them to get top money.

    Who would you sell?

I don't think they'll be much if anything really from Gyokeres unless he goes for silly money. We had an advance of £2m (?) to buy BTA (no doubt we got fleeced on that) and Brighton will get much of the rest.
