Manchester Evening News think he's on the way out https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-reject-transfer-bid-31933473

I like him well enough but not at £10m and not right now.

I might be wrong but didn't Illia Zabarnyi go to Bournemouith at almost the same age for a whole heap more than that? Doyle isn't a nipper anymore, which is why Man City want shot!

    Matchday Rewind Stoke City 1 - 0 Coventry City | Sat, 10 Aug, 2024

Failed to turn up. I was angry and almost disbelieving that day after all the talk of promotion, not just here but from the club and the players. In retrospect it was the coaching situation of course...

That isn't the question though. I said why would we mortgage the future on a player unproven in the PL. That's a much bigger gamble and one that PL clubs haven't made so far!

£5m in Europe should buy us a lot more.

He's soon to be 22 and never played even a handful of games. If we go up we'll need a proven PL starter.

Why would we do a deal to buy on promotion for a player who hasn't been able to hack it in the Prem? The lower Leagues are full of England youth internationals who never quite made it, we've had a fair few of these ourselves. There must be better options for the money.

Ah yes, missed that :) A bit rude about a seasoned international ;)

Match Thread Coventry City v Real Betis (Friendly) - 30th July - 7PM

I want to see much more from our strikers and more pace and crispness in the build up play. Far from good enough so far and not long to go. We have a relatively easy start on paper and it's vital that we're in a position to capitalise from it this season

    Transfer Rumour Carl Rushworth

Robins didn't have a good record with the keepers. Each and everyone one of them from Simon Moore on had a collapse in confidence - that's very unusual!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Did we or was it just paper talk? If we did "offer" I suspect it was speculative rather than serious.

I think BTA has more to offer. He looked sharp on Wednesday. Simmo has reached to end of the road for me, much as he seems like a good lad.

    Transfer Rumour Carl Rushworth

Once bitten twice shy! They'll want to see how he gets on for sure, we've also got time to see if Dovin comes back. Dovin might well be ok in January but I'm not expecting much from him this season and, hopefully, the club will ease him back gently now we seem to have bought ourselves some time...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

He's not getting any younger but he's a very experienced left back. Collapse in form? I suspect he took a knock somewhere or Dasilva wouldn't have played - not for me anyway. I do like Dasilva as an attacking threat if we're chasing a game and he's got good control but 0 goals and 2 assists...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Where you're paying millions for the likes of Kitching from a relegated Barnsley then £500k for Jake looks like the steal of the season!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

It wasn't about Hamer per se (or Vik for that matter.) It's a fact that we struggle agaisnt sides that put everyone behind the ball. It's something we have to learn to deal with. The build up play down, slow and down the right, time after time after time after blooming time. Maybe we were...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Takin' LePris Masterclass? We've struugled to breakdown sides that park the bus since Hamer left. As soon as we stretched them down the right we scored pretty easily. The MVE error cost us the tie but the weaknesses of the side are hardly his fault. I think Torp might have made a difference had...

    Matchday Ticket Prices

Let's say they're charging £10 on average "too much". Say that's 5000 tickets so call it 50k per game. Over 23 matches that's in the region of £1m. It doesn't go very far. It's just to offset against the true running costs really. I'm sure they've run the numbers and have thought about wage bill...
