At an away match with a tiny allocation and no standing area it's fair game Just personally I wouldn't want to ruin someone's experience behind me if they can't stand all game for whatever reason.

I agree. EFL T/L2 PO we sat in L1 but last year got on late and could only sit L3. Much better view than I was expecting, there aren’t really any bad views at the stadium.
