Thought Eccles did well defensively today, covered lots of ground broke up attacks, and was pivotal in us keeping our shape, we didn't look like conceding until the ref gave a slightly fortunate pen. Definitely agree that a new, quick striker would make us a very good top 6 team.

He's a £7.7 million pound centre forward, who's failed as a centre forward. I'm delighted he's doing exceptionally well as a left sided midfielder, (long may it continue) but he was brought in as a centre forward, and has failed at such. And now we still need another centre forward.

Hopefully we'd of signed a new striker before next week, and I'd start the new player, and look to bring Godden on if needed on the hour. If we haven't signed anyone I'd start Godden.

I don't disagree with that, but if that's how we are going to use him from now on, we need to bring in a new striker to start games, as Simms isn't the answer imo.

So Godden's goal scoring record for us is 1 in 3, that's not bad at championship level. He came to us in league 1, and his record was better than 1 in 2! A bargain in fact for what he cost! He deserves far more respect than some people give him.
