Exclusive - mark Robins to be named

If the length of contract is until the end of next season, it at least indicates some form of pragmatism and plan from above. It allows him to observe and make decisions on the existing squad and also get the wheels moving on potential new recruits for next season. I also much prefer our odds...

    Slade gone

I would also be happy with Robins, but the others are uninspiring in my view.

Exclusive - mark Robins to be named

Am I the only one completely confused by this? One of the main drivers for him leaving was the off field issues, which have only worsened since he left. What am I missing? Personally though I'd take him back, especially compared to the others in the betting....

He seems like a genuine bloke, who wanted to help but ultimately wasn't good enough. Appreciate we are a basket case of a club off the pitch, but his job is to do the best he can on the pitch. Three key measures of a manager (aside from the obvious winning of games) are recruitment, tactics and...

The start of this season Mowbrays tactics were hopeless, he tried to play a narrow midfield/strikers using wingers, and the wrong players a wing back. The system was too complex for L1 and the players at his disposal. However, your point was about last season. Post November we lost form, but...

Would you get an ST next season if ......

I've played on it quite a few times, I personally don't think it can support two football teams (that's circa 50/60 games a season inc cups/friendlies etc), and a rugby team. Plus youth games too. To be fair, I don't think too many pitches would.

Style of football has a big impact on success. The 'long ball' tactics from last year were with a purpose; we got it forward quickly with a plan to use the pace and movement of Armstrong and/or Murphy/Kent. This season it is literally hit and hope to strikers who are not naturally target men.

    Cheltenham 2017

I'm going on the Thursday as always - it's one of my favourite days of the year. It isn't nice or by any means ideal that horses die, but equally in a world full of negativity and seemingly constantly on the brink of the next tragedy, I choose to worry about matters I personally find more...

It is too early to say Shrewsbury is a must win?

It's depressing and quite shocking to say with 12 games left, but it's already too late. If we had picked up any sort of form, or were playing well, or had the best manager in the world, we may have had a massively outside chance. But we have nothing to hang any hope on. We are down.

    Shocking

Careful, you have the wrong defender, it's Turnbull who's shit remember. In all seriousness, Clarke and Rawson are by no means an improvement on Willis/Turnbull, and I have only seen a handful of defenders this year who are.

That's why going to the gym is for fools. As soon as I got past that annoying initial few months of having to impress the girlfriend when topless, I got comfortable and reverted my weekends back to drinking ale and eating chocolate!

    Slade Out

We've been over the arguments for why he needs to go several times, but looking at it from another angle - can anyone provide any form of argument for why he should stay? Take away external factors, such as SISU, Mowbray, Venus, Fisher etc, but as the manager of our football team, has he done...

Even his interview is clueless - 'not about shapes and systems'. WHAT?! You are a professional football manager; part of your job is literally to pick the right shape and system. I'm sure he a nice bloke, and a feel sorry for him, but he's in the wrong job and needs to go now.

So the changes are to play two centre backs at full back, a right back in centre midfield and at least one (two if we count the fact G Thomas is actually a striker) on the wing. Brilliant.

What does Wembley mean to you?

Some sort of payback for watching years of disappointment, relegation and a merry go round of awful players and appalling managers. Plus, the chance to go to Wembley with my dad who I've had a ST with for 20 years (bar Sixfields) and watch the team we support play at the national stadium with...

    The Worst of the Worst

I know he was a loanee and didn't spend a significant period of time with us, but if we are taking about the worst of the worst, you can't not mention Andre Wright. He is genuinely the worst winger/striker I have EVER seen.
