    Jimmy's Hill Today

Of course it is desperate, it is a travesty, nobody is denying that, but you don't need to make things up to prove the point. You say the Main Stand looked 'half empty' - well that stand holds 4000 - so if it was 'half empty' then there would have been 2000 in there alone. The crowd was what...

    2046

I think they will change a bit - but you're right, 2000 looks to be the par crowd now. It will deviate a bit when teams bring big followings or for xmas/bank holiday fixtures, and it will probably dip to 1500 for night games. If will be interesting to see if playing on a Saturday at home will...

hypothetical and irrelevant but I'll ask anyway

Questioned by who? There has been no criticism of him at all really. It's just a simple observation - he has missed more than a few clear cut chances in recent games, but that happens - and many of those chances he has made himself, and I am sure he will bag a hat-trick before long.

hypothetical and irrelevant but I'll ask anyway

I agree, his all round play is excellent, but he can be a tad wasteful. But like someone else said in another thread, if he bags 20+ goals this season nobody will be complaining.

    John Fleck

Thought he ran the show again today. Last week he was outstanding. Credit where it's due, his transformation this season has been huge, and he looks a lot fitter and sharper. Our style of play clearly suits him, and both he and Thomas have been the outstanding players for me this season, but...

hypothetical and irrelevant but I'll ask anyway

Exactly, I think there is more to come from both him and the team. I'm not convinced this team will fall away like some seem to think - but a couple of injuries and that might all change.

hypothetical and irrelevant but I'll ask anyway

Leon seems to be missing 2 or 3 sitters a game at the moment. One part of me thinks our good run is going to come to an end soon, yet the scorelines continue to flatter the opposition. We seem to have a lot to spare. Was it 3 times we hit the woodwork again today? And yet some people were...

    The Blame Game

Our attendances are (or rather have been) entirely consistent with our catchment area which is not nearly as big as people think it is. I'm really not sure what crowds people think we should be getting.

    Myth of the super supporter

Aye, looking forward to Vale. Pity the cricket was a wash out, turned down a ticket at the last minute, glad I did!

Quite a decent turn out yesterday I hear?

    Port vale tickets for sale?

Someone saying today that 400 have been bought direct from vale plus 1700 from the club, so would imagine 3k easy.

    Myth of the super supporter

Yeah, that annoyed me, because despite not firing on all cylinders we were still creating chances for fun against a team that parked the bus.

Should Tim move the team to the Butts?

Plenty big enough how? I assume you would be happy to be potentially locked out of your football club for 5 years? How is that different to playing in Northampton? Most City fans would miss out. How would we decide who can go? A lottery? First come first serve on season tickets? Not only...

    Stevenage tickets

It is a bit. We're a category A game, but even cat B is £22. Tickets in the home end start at 15 quid though.

    Port vale tickets

...plus those bought directly from Vale. Should be over 2K by the weekend with still a week to go. Promises to be a good day out!

    Coventry V Sheffield United

Nail on head. Nobody will give a toss if the ground is empty. They won't pay much attention if the cameras show a couple of fleeting shots of a few hundred people shivering on a hill. They will sit up and take notice if the game is interrupted.

    The boredom of it all

Totally agree. I would go for the mischief making and direct action over a lame boycott any day of the week (I understand it, but it will take a long time to work). Some might say that you can do both - but it is hard to cause a scene when you are not there. A few people standing on a hill...

    The boredom of it all

Agree. The fans have chosen the boycott as their protest of choice. That will take a very long time to win through. Certainly not this season, so unless they are willing to change tactics, there is little to be gained from talking about it endlessly. I understand why they do, they want their...

Ah, wasn't aware of that. That isn't good.

The web server has been upgraded hasn't it? Is now lightening quick (for me anyway), so shouldn't be any more online issues.
