Nobody would. All this holier-than-thou talk is laughable. The line between victory and defeat has never been thinner, fair play is for losers, gamesmanship is for winners- thats the difference sometimes.

I would rather we did do it & win than lose while retaining our sense of fair play, and moaning about injustice while other teams lift the trophies.

Italy had more possession, more shots, they were much better and hugely deserved to win. If you don't realise what Italy just did- 70 mins of "new Italy" then 20 mins of "old Italy" stifling the life out of Belgium, then you don't really understand the game tbh It might not be "entertaining"...

They do what it takes to win God knows what they'd do with a load of our fans harassing them for not pumping it forward at 2-1 up

There isn't a team on the planet better at shutting a game down, breaking the rhythm, getting over the line. They see it as being smart- 'game management', we see it as cheating. I don't like it but I would be happy for us to do it if it means winning the thing

THey need to do what they do in rugby- take the timekeeping away from the ref and have someone in the stand stopping the clock when play stops & take care of the whistle. Teams would soon stop this if they knew that every single second was gonna be added on at the end
