Poll: Time to back up your thoughts!

As we are now the play offs look most likely, but I'm not sure I would fancy us to get through them at our first attempt. However, if Robins were to bring in John Akinde & a decent keeper before the deadline, but without selling Willis or Bayliss etc, then I would strongly fancy us for automatic...

    Potential new signings

I see this being pushed on a few threads. Haven't seen him but his scoring record doesn't look over impressive.I see he hasn't scored for Hearts this season in 12 games. We already have Biamou!!

Anyone fearing a realistic bid for McNulty?

Without Willis, McDonald's lack of pace is far more likely to be exposed. We are fortunate to have some decent centre backs at the club who link well together, but losing Willis would have a more detrimental effect on the defence as a whole than any one of Davies, McDonald or Hyam.

Anyone fearing a realistic bid for McNulty?

He is doing well & is certainly better than any striker we had last season, but he is playing in League 2 and is not better than Armstrong, Wilson, Clarke, McGoldrick or King.

What important, or great goals have you missed over the years?

Agreed, I was also in that left hand corner and after Houchen made it 2-1 I was carried by the crowd, with my feet not touching the floor until after the final whistle.

James Maddison sell on clause? Bid from WEST HAM

On the issue of PL, I went to a football quiz where football before PL seemed not to exist. It really wound me up. Was also thinking after Cyrille died about the time he joined us, that if a similar player of his standing got transferred in the PL now, he would inevitably go to a top 6 club...

    Big Cyrille

Sad news. Was lucky enough to meet & chat with him a couple of times, the most memorable being at a friend's wedding he also attended at the Chesford Grange. Me & a mate hijacked him & reminisced about all things Cov. He entertained & joined in with our memories just like his own, even if he...

So we need a no9, who, and by what means?

I've mentioned him before but John Akinde would be my target. He is a brute of a of a player, and with Barnet going nowhere at the moment they might sell for £100k or so. He has a great record in this league & isn't long back from injury, so probably won't be on the radar of too many other...

    Robert Jarni

Ironically Forest got relegated that season, and after they beat us on the opening day I don't think they won another game until January/ February time.

    Tom Bayliss

Andy Blair - Just hope Bayliss doesn't go to Villa like he did.

This was the season after we had lost on penalties at Sheff Utd in Quarter Finals of cup & had a half decent season - Dublin had scored 20 goals etc. We had players like Nilsson, Boateng, Huckerby, Whelan & Dublin, so weren't particularly shit at that time. Can't remember the particular details...

    Crowd Tomorrow

If we stay where we are now (or better) our crowds will gradually rise as the season intensifies. Even though we are having a decent season some of our home games have been pretty grim viewing, with most of our opponents set up to frustrate and spoil, and mixed with other factors that are...

    Ex-Cov Fantasy Team

I presume Armstrong is still a Newcastle player.

    Who could/should you have supported?

Notts County for me too. My Dad is from Nottingham & grew up watching Tommy Lawton play for them. Lived in Nottingham for a bit & did go & watch them a few times too. This also explains why I dislike Forest more than Villa/ Leicester etc.

Stand up if you've never watched Wasps

You really are a sanctimonious moron. You are also a hypocrite who gladly followed our football club to another town, but is outraged when others do the same elsewhere. Shame you weren't so vocal when your beloved SISU sent 'our' club over the cliff to the all time low we find ourselves in now...

    How much would promotion cost?

Sign John Akinde & I see us getting promoted. Yes he would cost a transfer fee, but his salary at Barnet is hardly likely to break the bank. It means speculating a little, but the bigger crowds we would get if we knock in a few more goals & challenge at the business end of the season would...

Stand up if you've never watched Wasps

I'm no fan of Wasps, have never been to watch them & can't imagine I ever will. However, rugby and its followers are completely different to football supporters and should not be judged by our own standards of partisan loyalty to our club. I get the impression their followers are more interested...

Match Thread Port Vale - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 26th Dec

We got caught into playing the game Port Vale wanted. The pitch didn't help matters & neither did the ref who let a lot of pushing & shoving go, particularly their central defenders on McNulty & Biamou who as a result just couldn't get in the game. Watching the game I thought it was Beavon who...

Stand up if you've never watched Wasps

I agree with your sentiment but plenty of Cov people (majority probably) that are into football choose other teams over CCFC. Why would rugby be any different?

    McWankty

Kevin Drinkell failed to score in his last 22 games for us. What was worse was that we paid £1 million for him!!
