Trouble is we have no on field leaders. Davies has potential to be a leader but that's it. For me Ogogo was far poorer than Doyle last night, and whenever Kelly is ready to come back & unless Ogogo improves quickly, I think he is the one more likely to make way.

Don't know how much longer we can wait for the Sterling we hoped for to produce the goods. At the moment he looks like he doesn't want the ball. He just doesn't seem a natural footballer which given his England/ Chelsea pedigree seems ridiculous.

Is the first one that clear cut? I'm not sure JP isn't at least level with the first defender, and I'm also not absolutely convinced that he is in front of the ball as it is crossed either. Hopefully his and our luck will equal out, but in a more important game.

Looking at the line up tonight there must be every chance that Sterling will play further forward in a wing back role, so hopefully he will get the chance to get further forward & we can see how he shapes up doing so.

Has Sterling made a delivery into the box? He hasn't really got far enough forward to do so yet!

We have a high proportion of shouty fans who don't get that certain flair players are not going to be the best at tracking back. In most cases its best to just let them be, and save their energy for attacking. Murphy was a case in point, as before him had the likes of Baker, Salako and David...

I think people have actually been soft on Sterling, recognising the potential he must have, even given 2 mediocre performances so far. If Grimmer had been caught day dreaming & caught so woefully out of position for Scunthorpe's 1st goal last week, he would have got much more stick. ,

He's shown nothing in his two games so far to suggest he would be suited by such a role. He gets forward a lot less than Grimmer, and seems a bit more defensive minded. When he joined, and on hearing the reports about him I expected him to be a pacy wing back type, but while obviously not slow...

The forward positions are still all up for grabs. It is understandable MR is going to give his new signings first stab at staking their place in the team, but it will be a month or two before we see the true pecking order evolve.

Maybe I'd leave Willis out a while longer to fully recover, and either stick with Hyam or consider giving Thompson a start, but otherwise that team would be fine by me

I would imagine that given we already have Doyle, Ogogo & Kelly at the club, bringing in another midfielder to protect the back four would hardly be a top priority.
