But SISU rejected the deal. Agree with your final point though. If we do get new owners let's hope they spend time negotiating instead of trying to start fights.

    Good Luck CCFC

I'm not a fan of SISU, but I don't believe they "set up the business to bleed it dry". I'm quite convinced they intended to make the club successful and then sell it on. Unfortunately they lost their nerve (or perhaps their access to finance) and when they ditched Plan A, it soon became...

    Takeover latest

The protests may not have inspired us on the pitch last year, but any damage they did was minuscule when compared to the disastrous mismanagement of the club under the reign of Ken D. Remember ken, the man who gave the interviews after the (in)famous Tamworth meeting, complaining about...

Will Gary Hoffman Be Our Saviour?

I don't know they won't but then I didn't write a post that stated they won't be. You however posted about "Hoffman's faceless investors" suggesting that either you knew something or that you have some agenda that you want to push irrespective of the facts (or lack of facts).

Will Gary Hoffman Be Our Saviour?

I've been going since the late 60's. I've had a season ticket for most of those years - although I've never lived in Coventry. Oh, and I saw every game in the '87 cup run. Am I allowed an opinion please.

Will Gary Hoffman Be Our Saviour?

Torch, how do you know that any new investors will be "faceless"?

    ACL start admin proceedings

Don't blame you at all - I wish I understood the intricacies of administration better! I agree that any buyer would need money to buy the club (not much), hopefully to buy (part or all of) ACL (much more) and money to fund losses while the club was hopefully put on a sound footing (quite a...

    ACL start admin proceedings

The amount that SISU have put in is not relevant. The administrator would indeed be duty bound to get the best deal possible, but this will be based on the current assets and liabilities of the business. Not on historical investment that (for whatever reason) has been wasted.

    ACL start admin proceedings

Sorry - the reported £45m is what SISU are meant to have invested. That is a "sunk cost", they've lost it. A buyer would not pay anything like that.

Why would you need £50m to buy the club?

    ACL start admin proceedings

Not sure why you'd think that it's far fetched. I have no knowledge at all about any potential current takeover, but I did hear some time ago that there was an interested party that concluded that they'd be unable to reach a deal with SISU. It may be a case of 2+2=5, but I've always...

    ACL start admin proceedings

We're all speculating here, but if there is a potential buyer in the wings I'd guess that the buyer found ACL rather than the other way round, i.e. an interested party that (for whatever reason) doesn't believe that they can do a deal with SISU, but understands that any buyer would have to work...

    Clarification of admin situation

A takeover can happen at any time, but it requires the buyer and seller to reach agreement on price. If we go into administration, any potential buyer will have to deal with the administrator rather than SISU. Some people may believe that this would make a deal more likely. We get a 10...

    Doncaster home fixture re-arranged

Sorry for those it buggers about, but I couldn't go on the Saturday as the wife had booked theatre tickets without consulting the fixture list (got to be grounds for divorce), so for once it works in my favour :)

    ACL start admin proceedings

I haven't researched either case, but did they really take that stance? Did they go into the press proclaiming that their landlords were about to go bust? Did they go to a meeting, verbally agree a deal and then back out? Or did they perhaps negotiate in a sensible way?

    ACL start admin proceedings

Some people did try to point out that this was the probable outcome of SISU's inept "negotiating" tactics - but as I recall you were applauding TF's stance.

    Ricoh Arena - parliamentary debate

I believe that it was Einstein who said that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. I don't think I've ever met anyone who thinks current drugs policy is working - although I imagine that most criminals in the drugs trade would...

    Ricoh Arena - parliamentary debate

Didn't realise he'd suggested that. Bit of a shock to find a politician who can put forward sensible ideas instead of bowing to the "great" Daily Mail. Much respect to Mr Ainsworth.
