    This thread is fucking insane.

    Next Protest

The gate for the next game will be up on what it has been, simply by virtue of the fact it is our only home fixture over the Christmas period. I am talking relatively of course, it will hardly break any records, but it is likely to be over 10,000 - so calling for a boycott wouldn't make any...

    Fan Unity

What the other night proved, is that if you want to cause a stir and raise awareness, sitting at home not bothering, and then dressing it up as some sort of moral crusade, achieves nothing. I have no issue with those who choose not to go because they just cannot stomach it anymore - up to them...

    Sheffield United fans

It went beyond banter. When our fans went on the pitch, some of their supporters tried to get on to confront them. When they scored, a couple went over the netting and went towards the city fans giving it the 'come on'. A couple of our fans reacted and put one of them on his backside. Had it...

    Protest

They won't do anything. The worst they will do is a suspended 3 point deduction, because that's what they gave to Blackpool. The difference there was that their game was abandoned. Ours was completed, so at the very worst we get the same.

    Fair Play

Agree. Tonight was a necessary evil. We can't go on holding up bits of psper thinking it will get attention. We made a noise tonight, ruffled some feathers. Amen to that.

Does anyone else get the feeling?

But that doesn't really stack up. By selling Ryton, the income they generate would be offset by a further reduction in the value of the club which they would still see as a saleable asset. As a way of generating some cash for the short term - perhaps (short-termism is something they excel at)...

Fisher live on CWR.... the countdown begins.

The whole thing will be a massive anti-climax where we will learn nothing new. The calls will be heavily vetted, and those that do get through will the usual band of simpletons. What we need is a presenter willing to stick their neck out and go for Fisher's jugular - but unfortunately our...

Match Thread Coventry v Sheff Utd Match Thread - Thursday 15th Dec

I strongly advise against drinking on a week night. Nothing good has ever come of it ;)

Does anyone else get the feeling?

People seem to be glossing over a very important point - that in order to sell something, you need a buyer. Who in their right mind is so desperate to acquire a piece of land (for likely several million pounds) when the development of that land is subject to a third party building a new...

Match Thread Coventry v Sheff Utd Match Thread - Thursday 15th Dec

I will put my neck on the line and say we will get a result. Bad as we are, and despite our prospects looking more bleak by the day, we'll still pick up the odd win, more than likely at home, so why not Thursday? Fuck it, I might even put some money on it.

The protest on Sky against Sheffield is becoming a farce.

Bit of an overreaction if you ask me. I'm not saying there should be a pitch invasion - but isn't this the kind of direct action people have been asking for? When Blackpool fans did it, it wasn't 'embarrassing', received widespread attention and there was an outpouring of sympathy from the...

    Investment on the Horizon?

Yeah, but you might have to change your username ;-) Sky Blue is synonymous with the club now. Yes, apart from a few seasons as Singers FC when we wore Sky Blue, it wasn't adopted until the 60s - but when it was it became a key part of our identity. Play Up Sky Blues (The 'Sky Blue' Song)...

    Sheffield Utd - 15th December - Protest

It needs to be something that creates a photo opportunity and which cameras will focus on. Everyone standing and turning their back to the game for the first 5 minutes might achieve that. It's not that we'd be missing much anyway.

    Willis' Girlfriend

As I walked away from the game Saturday, trying to get my head around what I had just witnessed and what the fall-out would be, it occurred to me that the one thing you could absolutely guarantee is that somebody somewhere will try to blame the fans. It seems perfectly acceptable for Arsenal...

    Tactics (Jones)

I said after the Pompey game, when he tore them to pieces second half, that within 10 games people would turn on him. It took a bit longer than that, but it is starting to happen. He is the sort of player City fans don't take to. We had the same sort of conversations last season about Murphy...

    Red Bull Coventry?

Can't believe how desperate we have become. Hull fans fought tooth and nail to stop a simple name change, and 'Tigers' wasn't that controversial given that it is the club's nickname. So too at Cardiff which was a change of colours and a slight rebrand. We have people willing to embrace both a...
