    Oh The irony

I think the OP was referring to the fact that it's no longer the "Coventry City" Football Ground

    Away support this season

There are painfully few positives to cling to at the moment, but perhaps we will become the first team (I assume) to have greater numbers of away support than home support over a season.

    Easy Solution

Andy- my comment from an earlier thread: My view is that prospective purchasers have found SISU impossible to do an economically rational deal with. After all, SISU would be selling a loss-making company with no assets to speak of, so talk of SISU "getting their investment (whatever that may...

    For what it's worth..

I spoke to the FL today to (politely) express my disgust at their decision. About the only thing that the gentleman who took the call could say was that the FL had to approve the groundshare because it was "not possible" for CCFC to play at the Ricoh and so another ground had to be approved to...

    Attendances

I thought that one of our big problems was that we didn't get the revenue from the parking at the Ricoh. Oh how times change.

It's looking more and more like that. But a 10 year old could work out that it makes no business sense.....

Northampton Town chairman: Coventry City can afford rent

You have to say that about the only time anyone could get a smile out of this situation would be if SISU defaulted on the rent payment to Northampton.

There's no doubt that the club would be more attractive to a purchaser if it owned the stadium, but I don't think that the lack of ownership is the reason that there's no buyer at the moment. My view is that prospective purchasers have found SISU impossible to do an economically rational deal...

    Backing

If it wasn't such a serious and sad situation, the naivety of that comment would actually be quite sweet.

pathetic fans: this is the end of ccfc for me crap: why bother supporting !!

I'd check the book-keeping a bit more closely. I think you'll find that the debt will still exist, just in a different entity within the structure.

Except that isn't true is it. SISU have applied to take proceedings against the council for providing a loan to the stadium using public funding. I gather that Northampton council are providing funding for the work to be done to Sixfields - no doubt SISU's lawyers are drawing up the papers...

    Just say..

There's little doubt that a successful team would encourage some to go back - probably encourage a few of the new locals to go too. For others - myself included - it'll still be away games only.

pathetic fans: this is the end of ccfc for me crap: why bother supporting !!

I don't wish to start another poll, but is there anyone who seriously believes that we will start the 2016/17 season (I.e. in 3 years time) in a newly built ground in (or very close to) Cov?

pathetic fans: this is the end of ccfc for me crap: why bother supporting !!

The OP's point is bluntly that if people don't agree with him they shouldn't post here - you may agree, I don't. I agree that this is not MK Dons 2. With MK Dons the point was to move a football team. The point here seems to be everything to do with attempting to obtain a property asset on...

Why not start a site that only allows people who make happy posts about how well everything is going at the club and what fun it'll be at Northampton. It'll be so much easier for you to ignore reality then.

    Will you go to Sixfields

Agreed. I'll still be going to the away games that I can get to. I'll probably supplement those with the odd games at my local teams (Shrewsbury, Telford and Wolves), but I guess that over time I'll probably just end up watching less live football - unless Coventry Phoenix takes off!

    Will you go to Sixfields

I can only speak for myself (and my family). I (we) won't be going to Northampton. Ever.

    Will you go to Sixfields

That is a real concern. Even if we ignore reality and pretend that there's a snowball in hell's chance of Timmy's new stadium being built in 3 years - how many will have lost "the bug" forever by then?

    That made me wince....
