I've got a new one for Tim: One albatross does not a hedge fund break.

    Club is fucked

He was one of the owners, didn't he have a large (majority?) shareholding that he bought off Robbins?

    Higgs v SISU Court Document

I like the idea that wheeling out Mr Labovitch is considered good PR for Sisu, though I wish he wouldn't comment on our club.

    I blame Richardson!

CCFC director says court case "regrettable"

Yeah don't suspect we'll know why the Higgs barrister was needing to take instruction. Maybe the Higgs had higher costs than we might think or he wanted to double check with his solicitor that they were okay with that. Bit easier for the Sisu lawyer to agree to it as he was the one who suggested...

CCFC director says court case "regrettable"

It's the last part that I thought was relevent, as the judge can just say tough if you don't agree - you're each paying your own costs and cos I'm the judge what I say goes.

    Court Conclusion

We don't know how much ACL still have to pay off on the loan it could as you say be £14m or 14p we don't know.

Was it really that high a year - glad I'm not a tenant of CCC. ;)

CCFC director says court case "regrettable"

So Mr Labovitch appears to have missed the fact that the judge said he was going to come to the same conclusion as the one suggested by the Sisu lawyer i.e. everyone pays their own costs. Would the Sisu costs have been higher because they had 8 lawyers in court? Also why is he commenting on it...

    Charity statement on court case

We don't know what the starting rent would have been or any of the details so we don't know if it was a good deal or not. It could have meant that ACL paid the council an annual rent instead of the £21m upfront - we don't know. If PWKH makes an appearance on here again you can ask him.?

What History tells us is that the creepy teacher is taking the next class and not the nice one who takes English.

    Charity statement on court case

So you're disagreeing with what the judge said in court (and available to read on page 159 line 14 of the transcript of day 3) where he said: "Well I think it is the right conclusion. I would have come to it anyway." The conclusion being the same as was offered by Sisu i.e. everyone pays their...

    Good old callum

Really pleased that he wants to stay but I hope it isn't going to be another Hadji situation where Callum wants to stay but the club are determined to sell him.

    new station

Planning permission was only granted on the basis that there would be a train station built. I believe there was funding for it but the SRA and DfT said no. Council could do nothing about this so we had no station built.

    Charity statement on court case

So basically the Higgs won on not having to pay £290k + Sisu costs as well as their own etc. but lost on £29k + their own legal costs. Given Sisu had 8 lawyers there for part of this case that's likely to mean they had far higher costs than the Higgs, certainly more than the £29k. Now why...

    Charity statement on court case

Not that odd really if taking donations adds to the complexity of the running of the charity, it also could have been a condition of old man Higgs in his request to set up the charity when he croaked. If you're that interested why not ask them or the Charity Commission who are their regulators...

    Charity statement on court case

Well then I guess this statement from their last accounts is wrong or misleading http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Accounts/Ends67/0000509367_ac_20110405_e_c.pdf So it sounds like they get their income from the money Alan Higgs left to set the charity up. They might take donations but it...

    Charity statement on court case

As I understand it the Higgs Centre was built by the Higgs after the club didn't have the funding to build the Academy facilities themselves. I think (and I don't know this as fact)it was made into a dual purpose centre so there were facilities that were suitable for a Cat 2 one, but also some...

I wasn't aware that the Higgs took donations, never seen a collection box when in Coventry.
