He's had a solid start to the season but his card is already marked with some sadly.

He was asked to stop by Watford & initially said he would, then reneged on it. They asked him again & he refused to stop & was fined (more than once I believe) as a result.

Really frustrating. Not at our best but did more than enough in possession to get a result, utterly calamitous defending & keeping for all 3 of their gifts.

Exactly this. How do you scout players for United? What's their identity? What's their style of play? They don't have one. That comes from the top down; then employ a manager to implement it & recruit around it. At United it just seems like "He's a big name, might be good for the club...

As @Liquid Gold said that's a long time ago though. Credit to Ronaldo, he's adapted his game to prolong his career but he can't play that way at an elite level anymore. He basically can't/won't press at all either.

Which is all well & good if you think he's good enough still to build a team around & play to suit him.
