Clarke-Salter is very good & a bit more consistent at this stage but his injury record was always going to be a concern. You can see Panzo has quality but he's pretty raw & positionally all over the shop at times. Doyle is excellent in possession, I wonder if he may struggle with the...

In fairness I think most of those were done during the injury breaks.

    Stop the clock

Really, really bad time management by the referee last night. The Woodburn injury (ironically suffered by fouling Wilson for which he should have been booked) took over 3 minutes, Eccles' injury was a further 2mins then they also had the defender that lay down in the goalmouth when nobody was...

Mark Robins is responsible for Hyam being sold

Agreed. Ours & Luton's are some of the best recruitment teams around given what they have to work with. They have at least been able to pay some (relatively) substantial fees this season too which we sadly can't. This season maybe but Cameron Jerome, Henri Lansbury?

In fairness, that is very low by Sheaf's usual standard. He (and the team as a whole) were unusually sloppy in possession last night. What it does highlight for me is just how little impact Allen has on games, 20 touches less than Sheaf despite playing 30 minutes more.

    Transfer Shouts

Agreed. Seems to take Dabo a run of 4-5 games before we see the best of him & then there's some enforced break & he's back to square one again. Really needs to find some consistency.

Not especially, more dynamic and good acceleration though & will attempt to get beyond his man.

    Transfer Shouts

Fair. I think MR's plan was to have 2 types for the wing-back roles, solid & steady Eddie's who can offer good delivery (Bidwell & Kane) vs more pacy, dynamic attacking types (Dabo & Maatsen/Adaramola) which gives good balance & allows you to select personnel accordingly or change on the fly...

Why do you have to take on a man to be a wing-back? Bidwell was very effective last night & has had a solid start to the season.

The smaller the budget the more risks you have to take.

I assume you didn't listen to the interview? He didn't concentrate on it at all, he mentioned it once at the very beginning in direct response to the question asked. He blamed the pitch & off field stuff far more.

    Transfer Shouts

Not quite what he said. He knew & accepted that we would need to sell players. The club's plan all along was to sell one of the big 3 (preferably Hamer) but it hasn't materialised.

That's my thoughts too. The actual quote, in response to the question asked was: "You can sense the annoyance of our fans, we need to get that out of our system" You can read into it how you want but to me it just seemed like classic management 101 of basically saying to the players we need to...

I see, I thought you were referring to the statement rather than Pete's summary of last night. I can't speak for @Sky Blue Pete but I assume his post was just an outline summary for brevity & there will be more 'meat on the bones' in the actual minutes unless there were literally only 30 words...

I think you're reading into something that's not there. There is nothing implied, it's clearly stated unequivocally what it includes. If people choose not to read the statement that's up to them.

How is it spin when that is literally what it says? "The playing/football budget for the season has increased compared to last season, by 17% – driven by contractual uplifts to players and extended contracts for players and football staff."
