More News On Ricoh Train Station

The station WAS in the original plans for the stadium, and if it had been up to the council it would have been built at the same time. However the Strategic Rail Authority wouldn't agree and the Gov't wouldn't stump up the money. The £9.7m is not the total cost, the Gov't is being asked for (I...

    Bigi chant

From what I've read on other "chant" threads, all most city fans would manage would be "Bigi Bigi Bigi, Oi Oi Oi".

    predictions for derby

Just as a matter of interest, has any player since Keane scored on his debut? If not (& I can't think of any), that's a fair length of time to wait! Oh, and McDonald's no Keane!

    If SISU bought the stadium...

My info is the council have already put the veto on Sisu buying the Alan Higgs shares, because they didn't have a credible business plan for the stadium's development. That's developing the business by the way, not pulling it down & building something else!

When CCFC was sold to SISU didn't we have 30 million pounds of debt?

The last set of accounts showed that Sky Blue Sports & Leisure (effectively the club) owed £30m. No prizes for guessing who to.

    Mindless Speculation!!

There's a simple solution. If you see a post headed something like "Anelka to join next week" (replace Anelka with any other name), just don't click on the post You don't have to read every thread you know!

Should we play the kids on merit?

I seem to remember someone saying, "You can't win anything with kids". Think it was a certain A Hansen about Man Utd. They won the Prem easily if I remember. If they're good enough, they're old enough. (I think someone else said that)

Ben Turner - Bad News... Or Is It?

Fully agree, except: He's better than Wood (and scores more goals!), and does one long injury layoff equal injury prone? I think not. oh, and I'd want to keep him.

We have to play our strongest team against Bury tomorrow

Do we have a weakened team we can play?

Right, so who's joined from GMK then?

I'd agree, but there do seem to be some one here (ex CET forum?) who don't seem to agree. Tere has been some stupid name-calling that passes for argument on GMK lately. Generally I just ignore it. If a thread goes off-topic, then just go on to the next one! What I miss from the old GMK more than...

Right, so who's joined from GMK then?

I use/watch both, but frankly, I have problems with both. GMK has been great in the past. Good game reviews from Knowl, excellent banter (including with Hackeyfox) and some intelligent discussion. But it has real software problems and doesn't seem to want to take the plunge and change. This site...

    Mr Brody

Perhaps someone could give me a list of clubs that have a majority of "football people" on the board. People are on boards of football clubs because they've invested in them, and Brody is no different. He wants to see the value of his investment grow, so he takes an interest in the financial...

    Hackney Fox - Banned

Bloody hell. My first post, I mention Incester, and I'm accused of being obsessed with them. (I missed my post appearing because as a refugee from GMK I'm used to having around 50 posts a page, and not being used to the forum yet, missed the little 1..2..Last link at the top. Oh, and I won't...

Dunn Set to sign for Coventry today

Didn't we all have our doubts about a certain Mr Westwood when he signed - "Why are we buying someone from Carlisle?" "He can't be much good if Man City rejected him" etc. etc.? I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him play. Even then, I'll probably give him a bit of rope until Oggy's had time...

    Hackney Fox - Banned

Where did my post go? Or has it been banned? Anyway, to repeat (roughly) what I said: I didn't want my first post to be about someone like Hackers being banned, but footy. If people can't take a bit of banter, then they're delicate little flowers. I've followed some of Hackers' posts on GMK...

    Significant investment

No ground ownership & being a low achiever didn't stop the Arabs taking over Manchester City and pumping multi-millions in. And they don't have the option of buying even half of the ground. I may be pretty biased, but if if I was that loaded, I'd invest in a club like City just for the...
