Portsmouth have sensibly held onto Chaplin as now they've been proven right ... they didn't get their target, so they didn't release ... we should have done the same with McNulty ... we made a mistake ... and the new season is just around the corner ... I agree with the above, I have faith in...

I'm afraid as this Chaplin chap hasn't arrived ... still ... but Portsmouth are being sensible lining up a replacement PRE selling their biggest asset, what did we do (regardless of McNulty wanting to go ... who cares, he's under contract, well WAS) we sold him pre having a solid replacement ...

Yeah .. maybes ... just think one real quality striker (accepting an injury then stuffs us completely) with having Biamou and Ponti would be the best option ... someone highly rated with a proven track record ... ? Who'd be a football manager eh ;-)

Haven't had the time to read all 9 pages of this forum topic, but what I think is odd, is that if CCFC are committed to "going for it" in L1, why would we wish to be using up any of the £1.2m from McNulty buying an unproven 21 year old for £250-£500k thus helping Portsmouth buy their real target...

Don't think we should be over bidding on this 'unproven' striker ... £600k, if that's true, has got to be more than enough ... that's 1/2 the McNulty money ... have to be careful here ... would have preferred us to go out there and spend the full £1.2m on another striker, that was a proven...

I'm not so much refusing to go ... as genuinely haven't decided what to do ... actually for me it's seeing all that money from McNulty being reinvested that will swing me

Fair question ... my scepticism lies mainly with the reinvestment, he's gone now ... so that's the end of McNulty, so the reinvestment on a striker for circa £1m rather than it being whittled away and a token gesture purchase being made ... that would convince me that SISU weren't eyeing the...

Well it's encouraging to see so many enthusiastic about next season regardless of the striker that ends upfront for us ... and I get the responses of most ... had a season ticket last year ... probably will this ... but will leave it to see who comes in first I think as price won't drop...

Yes, I did Nick to be fair ... but even an agent can't make us sell ... and I appreciate that Robins wasn't forced to sell ... he says that too ... but with a two year deal already in place, I'd have kept him one more year ... then sold if we didn't go up ... no crystal ball here ... so could be...

It's a mistake selling him ... he was on a 2 year deal .. .we could have had one more year and sold him next year had we not gone up ... I get he wanted to go ... but that's what contracts are for ... would have kept him ... no doubt ... but SISU ... they just don't learn ... shame we could...

Thanks Otis, well I'd have him back in again for next Friday then as an exchange for Hyam ... not that he played badly yesterday to be fair ... key with yesterday was the stats 61% possession and only 1 shot on target ... that's got to improve Friday, so maybes 3 up front .. JCH, McNulty and Ponti ?

Is Willis injured ? ... He was on the bench and Hyam took his place ... but as he was on the bench ... surprised me he didn't start ?
