What would our survival odds be if we went up?

If we got up, we would be hot favourites to go back down again. There would be a lot of money incoming. A sharp club would buy a lot of players with potential and contracts organised to drop on relegation to within a manageable level, taking into account parachute payments. Some players would...

Match Thread Coventry City - Rotherham United FC Match Thread - Tuesday 5th Mar

I wonder the strong rumour that Kitching and Bidwell were ill is correct. MR is not going to let Rotherham know this. Hence, no subs against West Brom.

Who is good enough next season?

I think we seriously need someone up front who can hold the ball up when we have to go long.

Do we have the best fans or the worst in football?

I am always pleased when opposing fans say how our away and home support are the best in the Championship. I have friends who attend every match and are pragmatic. Then we have the online reaction on all media channels from City fans when we lose. I loved the poster on here who described a...

    QF Draw

Agreed I was there that day when Parker had a mare. What a disappointment. However, I was in the North Bank when Ray Pointer scored in a 1-0 win and in the opposite end when we kicked off our promotion charge from L1 with a 3-1 win. That was a brilliant game. They were our biggest rivals then.

    Missing piece of the jigsaw

Tommy Hutchison the best player ever to pull on a sky blue shirt. Criminally sold too early to Man City where he helped them get to Wembley in the FA cup and scored at both ends. Came back for a testimonial when he was really old and was still the best player on the pitch.

    Missing piece of the jigsaw

The stupidity of selling Yorath as he had too much influence in the dressing room.

    Max joins the Vikings!

Good luck to Max, one of the good guys. Near the end of his career with us he was playing while injured. Fitness problems have retsricted his games since then. A fit Biamou should do well in League 2.

    Maidstone Ratings

Spot on. Feel Tavares looked poor then scored two goals. Palmer looks great against lesser opposition but needs to bring it on against the better championship teams. Kelly looked good but hard to judge until he meets better opponents. Felt for Maidstone as not only were they outclassed, they...

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 1st Mar

Preston, Swansea, Hull and WBA. Teams we never seem to do well against in recent times. We suffered defeats to WBA at home in the last two seasons due to bad officials decisions, although we may have lost anyway this season. I fully expect a loss and a meltdown on here. Injuries catching up...

Robins has taken us as far as he can.

The very fact we have a thread like this shows the stupidity of some of our supporters. I say this when I feel due to injuries our season will peter out from here onwards.

Match Thread Coventry City - Maidstone United [FA] Match Thread - Monday 26th Feb

Think our injuries have caught up with us regarding promotion, (with the proviso that I am always wrong). The 11 playing must be 100% fit. We cannot risk losing further players to injury (see Torp). Best 11 we can field, as I expect us to lose to West Brom (see above proviso).

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

Moore will go. Doubt we will buy another goalie unless it is a development player. Think COH is 80% likely to go. Will be a big miss and the hardest player to replace. Mason-Clarke looks awesome in L1. Fingers crossed he doesn't get injured. I would go for McCallum out of contract. He was...

    Maidstone Tickets

Said before, was surprised we have a better average gate than WBA this season. Does that make us a bigger club? There was a question on who was the biggest Midlands club in order Villa, Wolves, WBA, Blues and us. Appears we are third and rising. MR has got it spot on. Incremental improvements in...

    CCFC 10 years from now...

Things change very quickly in football. Completely depends on ownership, the management team and luck. Good ownership and a class management team means an upward trajectory. I really have never thought we had a ceiling, as we have such an enormous catchment area. Surprised to read our gates are...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

My reply button is playing up for some reason. Hands up if I'm wrong but pretty sure MR said King was in charge of recruitment now on two occasions. Sure some nerd on here will search out the exact words to prove this one way or another. Sometimes (like all of us) I get things wrong, but don't...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

Think you will find that MR said King had taken over the recruitment side of things. MR expresses his opinion but King and the recruitment team make the decisions. Not speculation when MR has said it as fact.
