Worst kick off of all time?!

I remember them interviewing City fans before the match on CWR and one piping straight up with "shit on the villa" Rob Gurney cut him straight off and said "i'm not quite sure what he said, but let's hope we do....."

    Sunderland crowd..

The German 2nd division running it close with 12 (out of only 18 teams). But they've got three teams over 40k (including one at about 57k and another 60k+) They've also got 6 who would be higher than Leeds in 2nd.

    Luton Town

Should they change their tactics and play beautiful expansive football (and get smashed 6-0 every week), just because they got promotoed? Or continue with their tried & tested style of play, which given the poor standard at the bottom of the premier league, might give them the faintest glimmer...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

It's absolutely ridiculous. If we couldn't go up in the playoffs i'd have preferred Luton out of any of the teams who were still in the hunt over the last few games.

    Bedwetters here only !

Approx this time last year, there were more than a few people on here saying that Hamer should never wear the shirt again after his sending off.

    Evening …..

HackneyFox has been on the forums for years, back in the GMK days. Its fantastic that we are competing at the same table as Leicester again imo.

Tom Brady minority owner at Birmingham

Like i say, its just another way of looking at it. There's a lot of excuses thrown about when it comes to us and attendances (some valid, some not), but the fact is they're historically (very slightly) better supported than us, so i think pointing fingers at them for lack of support is a bit...

Tom Brady minority owner at Birmingham

Another way to look at it is in my living memory, Blues have never been a regular top flight team (whereas we were for a large chunk), yet they still have an average crowd above us.

Yes 400's are a good marker of where you are.... simple session, no need to over-complicate it. I didn't manage the 400mtr session on thursday, a combination of family-crisis, mum's 70th birthday, and a trip to London...... so did a hill session on treadmill instead. My scribbled records...

Tom Brady minority owner at Birmingham

That isn't every BCFC fan though is it...... its like us getting the hump with Sunderland claiming that we're a city of total wankers due to an event in 1977 which we have no control over, and a few people throwing shit/piss around (which probably didn't actually happen)

    Running

We were on the grass at Warwick Uni last night... 8 x 1 minute reps with 3 minute recoveries. The 1 minutes were 30secs quality, 20secs harder, 10secs max. My increase from quality up to hard pace was at least vaguely visible... but from hard to max was barely noticeable even to me. 9.5...

No Strava for me.... strictly a pen and paper guy!! Probably the only person in Cov Godiva who doesn't use Strava....! Happy to expand on any routes on here or PM, or meet up for a run if wanted....

My apologies, of course its a sunday game isn't it....!

    Leicester away

There are plenty of earlier trains to Leicester than 11am. If you're trying to do the entire trip from Coventry on the train then you're severely limiting your options...... you need to get to Nuneaton.

Issue with those directions for me is the path deteriorates the further you get away from Cov.... i remember trying to cycle along there to Rugby once which was a disaster, ended up chucking my bike on the train at Rugby to get back home. The towpath within Cov is pretty good although a bit...

    Running

15.5 miles at around 7:20/mile pace yesterday. Out from Bedworth, up Black Horse Rd and onto the Canal at The Greyhound. Steady down the canal, dodging Rats, Pigeons and Squirrels, saw me at the canal basin in 55mins. Through the centre, out past the station, down Spencer Ave into Earlsdon...

    Rocking all over the world

Yes it has improved massively..... but its still an identikit out-of-town stadium... If i was an away fan coming to Coventry, the one plus point would be the generally large allocation.... i'm not personally a fan of stadiums out-of-town. Its strange, i realised that i've now supported...

    Women's World Cup 2023

This is the issue for me. Will there ever be a time when the England team/manager gets an absolute panning in the media for a poor performance/result, as the men's team does. That would be a positive sign the game has developed in line with the men's..... but i don't see it ever reaching that...

    Running

Back to proper training last night. A track session on a very warm evening, 26deg as the session started. 10 x 300mtrs, with 100mtrs jog recoveries. My target set by the coach was 53secs, which i've (just about) managed earlier in the summer, although not quite being 100% recovered from...

You would not.... you do get prepared for unseasonable weather when racing on the fells.... but as mid-summer races go, it was a poor one for weather!
