    We are right in it

We'll probably drop points in the next few games, against the form book, then pick up an unlikely win against Sunderland/Sheff Utd/Burnley. It rarely goes exactly true to form. 6-7 points from the next three, and then an optimistic 3pts from the harder three matches, would be 10 pts from 6...

While the sky is blue - The Believers

We had the Final Countdown for a short period in the mid 90's too.... possibly the Phil Neal era.... before Mr Blue Sky

While the sky is blue - The Believers

Yes. I'd be highly surprised if it was anything other than a tribute act though.

While the sky is blue - The Believers

"Pavarotti" did a song at half time on one boxing day in the mid 90's.

    Running

National Cross Country Champs at Parliament Hill, London yesterday. 12km took me over 61mins which is an indication of how tough the course was. Pure mud and rough ground from start to finish. Godiva finished in the 40's which is the best we could expect with a weakened team (i was in our...

    I'm So Happy

In terms of what they've done as a club, they're no worse (or indeed better) than pretty much any other club. And reasonably similar to us in terms of historic size, fanbase, success, etc. *i'm no fan of them and will be delighted if/when they are relegated.

UK Mountain Rescue and the wonderful job they do

I've raced across there a lot. Funnily enough, the colder it is, the better it usually is underfoot. If its well below freezing the ground is so hard you can make good progress over it. If its only around freezing its just a mixture of soft mud, peat, heather and snow, and every step is a trial.

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

I missed the Eclipse days by a few years.... but in the early 00's it reopened as The Institute and had some really good nights. Drum and Bass on friday nights and then some kind of House/HardHouse (i wasn't into House so not 100% sure) on saturdays. I got thrown out on the opening night for...

UK Mountain Rescue and the wonderful job they do

Kinder Scout is notorious for navigational difficulty. There is basically no "high point" on the plateau, its consistent height. You've basically got to bear north/south/west to find the edge of plateau (east is dodgy as it eventually merges in to other fells)..... Which can be very arduous as...

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

I feel similar...... Sanctuary closed in summer 2004, and i'd pretty much given up going to big raves by summer 2005...... although did a couple of big venues after the Sanctuary........ Cov Skydome, and Nottingham Ice Arena spring to mind. Bagleys was my favourite place. United Dance on a...

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

I went to the Sanctuary reunion rave that was put on by Majika and a group of other dj/mc's at the MK Dons/Marshall arena in November. Layout was great, very reminiscent of the Sanctuary, and the music was pretty much on point. However, just wasn't the same.... atmosphere was really lacking...

    Championship thread 24/25!

I don't think Luton were a fluke, they were in and around playoffs for a couple of years. And they gave it a reasonable go...... had they not absolutely collapsed in the 2nd half vs Forest they'd have probably stayed up. Definitely unique, in terms of club size, ground, etc....... but not a...

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

Late 90s early 00s it was pretty commonplace to wear football tops to raves...... would see City fans in droves at the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. But would see many other tops too...... Man CIty, Wolves, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle..... always plenty of them about too. Used to be one guy...

    Running

Your local county (Devon?) Athletics Association will be able to let you know which competitions your club are eligible for.... I'd imagine there's a county/area cross country league...... and if your club is affiliated to England/Uk Athletics, should be eligible for county/regional cross...

    Running

Nice one! Cov Godiva stayed up in the top league of the cross country on saturday, by the skin of our teeth, in a "great escape" that would make the Sky Blues blush. Four teams battling to avoid two remaining relegation places..... we ended up in the final relegation place, but then league...

Match Thread Coventry City - Queens Park Rangers Match Thread - Tuesday 11th Feb

The first season at the Ricoh was pretty lively...... we also played Luton early on and there was trouble before the game. And i think the Birmingham game where there was a lot of trouble was quite early as well.

    Alan Brazil

I think the women's game had a real chance to become something different to the men's game..... however its been pretty clear over several years that "they" (the people in charge of the game, and the broadcasters) just wanted the same teams as the men's game up at the top. The very cynical...

Was Doug correct about the deck?

So do we still need an entire new defence..... or is that going to be reserved for next time we lose 2 in a row?
