Match Thread Bristol Rovers Match Thread

They're in free fall at the minute - and despite his recent drop in form, their main source of goals is likely to leave by days end. Anything less than a win would be a big disappointment.

Would he? Wilson has had a shocking season and King is a safer bet. Especially given the fee United are likely to be forced to pay.

I don't think there is any alternative for them because we're not signing him.

Would we be able to afford his even a proportion of wages whilst on loan? I doubt Wolves would be willing to once again cover a significant proportion of his contract as they did last time.

    Bright Enobakahre

True - although I think he's not exactly the full ticket so if I was a betting man I suspect he's asking like for like what he was payed at Wolves. Hence why the talks broke down.

Aren't his wages at Wolves eye-watering? The fact he couldn't agree personal terms at Brum is clearly an indication that his demands are boarding on the ridiculous. So surely that suggests that even if we returned to the Ricoh we wouldn't be able to offer anything close to what he wants.

    Dave Boddy

I don't know why he's making a joke at the expense of Woodwood's situation when it's not actually funny. Equally, I don't really think someone in his position should be making 'banterous' comments about a fellow sporting CEO's (where his children live I might add) home being vandalised by a...

    No New Signings

In theory no, but you could also argue that in theory none of the traditional top 4 really have to sell their players whilst under contract. The fact remains though he pushed the move though so realistically they did have to sell otherwise they'd have an unhappy player on their books disrupting...

Have you not just read Robins' comments?

    No New Signings

Cheers Mark. Also, you've just tried to put a square peg in a round hole to prove your point. Liverpool's situation was completely different. Firstly, Sterling forced the move because Liverpool was in the situation United are in currently and secondly he moved nearly 5 years ago.

    No New Signings

It's a shame as he had a lot of promise. But clubs at our level - and of course in our situation - simply cannot turn down offers of that size. Hopefully the income received from the sale will help go towards bridging at least some of the gap this season.

    Robins post match/mcallum sale

Bayliss had a pretty poor season last year. Realistically at the time I don't think we could warrant asking for anything more than what we received for him.

    Robins post match/mcallum sale

I think it depends on the personality of the player with regards to loan backs. Maddison was and is clearly a right arrogant sod and as a result saw CCFC as a means to an end during that second half season spell - hence why he didn't see the value in exerting himself. Perhaps he was concerned...

    Deadline Day

Was it not all but confirmed by either Robins or Bobby last season that the agreement with Chelsea was that we had to play him regularly or pay his salary in full?

    Deadline Day

Even if we had the funds I'm not sure how a loan could come in as realistically they just wouldn't get the minutes. We're pretty much covered in every position. Difficult to get loan deals over the line these days for highly rated youngsters unless there's a guarantee that they will play on a...

    Robins post match/mcallum sale

The Facebook page is offering comedy gold if anyone fancies a glance over. "WOULD WANT 3, PLUS AND THAT WILL ONLY LINE SHITSU POCKETS" "SELL MCCALLUM BUY A STRIKER" x4 Brilliant stuff.

Clubs eyeing swoop for striker but will Sky Blues benefit? Apparently, but they've used the old 'Coventry Live understands' line so it could well be bollocks. Hopefully not though.

Cardiff, Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR are all eyeing up a late move for JCH. Hopefully he goes and we can generate a bit of cash from his sell-on clause.

    Will Grigg

No because we don't need him, his career is on a downward trajectory and I doubt offloading both Baka and Hiwula would even come close to covering the costs of his wages.

    It’s in our Hands Now

I'd rather have the points on the board than the games in hand but if our form continues we're certainly the team Rotherham and Wycombe will feel nervous about. Pressure's on.
