EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

anyone that says Wycombe don't deserve to be in the playoffs because their game in hand is against us. Same logic would apply to anyone outside the top 6 but who has a bunch of "easier" games to play...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

We don't have the best home record, or even the second best for that matter... yes pedantic, sorry! Lets just get the pools panel out to predict the results of all the remaining games then - that would be even fairer (unless they put us 3rd...)

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

You can't start predicting things - anything can happen. PPG is a matter of fact. The only thing you could do to remove PPG is roll-back games until all teams have played the same number of games (34). Either way that leaves Wycombe rightly in the playoffs.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

So many teams have games cancelled due to cups, internationals etc. Clutching at straws at best with that argument. Weighted PPG is rightly off the table as a terrible alternative to PPG - you only have to look at West Ham & Bournemouth to see why that is the case.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

So I gather from this there will be an all team vote to accept / reject the proposed rule changes. That requires a 50%+1 majority, plus a majority in the Championship. Any chances that the Championship reject this to serve their own self interest in potentially not relegating? Once that has...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

I think only a straight majority is needed. Seems a guarantee for PPG. Why wait until next week to vote though, taking the mick now...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

How do you come up with a prediction model that gives us a 16% chance of missing out on automatic promotion (which is what the math says), but allows us to be "happy" about that outcome when the dust has settled. Right now, we are all in "100% getting promoted mode", and with good reason, but...

I don't think for a second shmmeee was suggesting to void the season... he was saying to void the remaining games...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Yes you can restrict players to only be able to play the final 10 games of this season for the team they were signed to at the time of the last game. Then it is up to clubs to make an agreement with those players that might be leaving, or extending loans (shouldn't be too much of a problem)...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

You just can't get in to the prediction game - PPG is as good as it is going to get as a fair reflection on "how you have done thus far". Small margins, but yeah Rotherham are slightly ahead of the rest. I totally get that they only had small percentage more and they were catchable but that's...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Rule changes (promoting less, or relegating less, or changing playoffs) require a majority vote of the 71, plus a majority vote of the Championship teams. I believe if we end up with 3 up 3 down it will just need a majority vote in our league. Listen to latest 'Price Of Football' podcast - it...

    ST holders poll

ifollow ST here - no refund for me. In fact I fully intend to buy an actual season ticket next year as well even though I am abroad to support the club as much as possible. Also reminds me that MMJ's justgiving might need a tweak next season...

Bigger Clubs making a lot of Noise - Meeting 9.30am start

To change the rules requires a majority vote of the 71, plus a majority in Championship. Hence Stevenage are far from off the hook.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

There's gonna be hundreds of footballers either out of work or taking massive pay cuts this summer. Yes if a player already has a deal lined up they might walk, but unless that deal is airtight it might not happen... however as long as players that leave are not allowed to play again until the...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Depends if the Prem and Championship are playing games. That argument won't really hold up if other football is going on...

If football resumes then fixture order has to be in the same order it was originally scheduled for all teams.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

How can they set a deadline until we even have a date and schedule for the Championship to resume & conclude. Surely we need that first before a vote can realistically be taken.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

It's called contract factoring whereby some guaranteed payment is made available to you sooner by paying a small fee. Then in future years you would have less income, but you would have 3-4 years to prepare for that shock down the road and plan for it by adjusting playing budget accordingly...

After the Elation - The questions

Last season the median income was around 25m and bottom income more than double our current budget at 12.5m and I don't expect our budget to be rock bottom next year (it'll be close I am sure). Digging deeper, 4.3m solidarity payment, and 2.3m EFL sky deal - the more games you have on sky the...
