Well I tried to find out who had given the search order the most sense I got out of a goon was "The man said. The man who does the speeches.."

And endangering the future of the club through their laughable "strategy"...orange goons and searching children wasn't too clever, either, lest we forget..
Agree with most of your points but on this there are a few other factors: firstly the Kolpak definition was tightened quite a lot. Secondly, the clubs are mostly skint. Thirdly, the ECB salary incentive scheme means that clubs get paid money (yes hard cash!) for fielding England-qualified...
Great post Swiss and I agree with most of it, but I can't see anything changing in the short-term. For one the foreign player restriction you mention would be deemed a restraint of trade by the EU. Although if Cameron gets his way we may not be in it soon I suppose.
Just quoting the quote in the OP and not doubting their journalism (for once), not my opinion on any of them! Although of the three it would be Black, Curle
and then Dickov. This far down.
His dad Tony knew where the back of the net was! Given that our season is over, that's reason enough to give him a crack for me. Just keep him away from pen's ;)
