    To cheer everyone up

Was at the Victoria Ground, think it was a Friday night. Awful game and I recall it was 2 penalties in the last 5 minutes or so. As you say Painter missed theirs and we scored ours. Otherwise it was goodnight Vienna. Victoria Ground was a right old shithole.

Things you remember from back in the day?

Make sure all the players are intact Wingy. We never had a table big enough for the pitch and had to play on the carpet. Many promising careers were ruined by our knees accidently crunching the players in half :banghead:

Favourite City goal you saw live

Moussa's 30 yard volley in the 96th minute at Deepdale takes some beating. Went with son no. 2 who lives just outside Preston and he was able to give it large to his PNE supporting mates after years of misery up there for us. We were stood bang in line with the ball and saw it all the way in...

Things you remember from back in the day?

Cheers Wingy, sorry can't remember the brand but it might have been Players. It was in a small rectangular shaped packet with the flake tobacco compressed inside and each flake was then rubbed between the palms in a circular motion before packing it into the pipe. He didn't smoke it in the car...

If we go down will Mowbray go down as one of our worst ever managers?

And didn't Mowbray take over in the first place with the team in the bottom four and in very real danger of relegation? 2 years on we've come full circle, what's the constant?

    To the "Slade out!!!" Brigade

We were told that Mowbray is/was a Championship level Manager and ill-equipped to manage consistently in League One. Slade is a tried and tested League One Manager and we are told is our best chance to get us out of the mire quickly. I'm all for giving him a chance and seeing who else he can get...

Anyone remember the Spion Kop / HR

I remember the pitch had a slope of about 6ft from the corner flag nearest the Crows Nest down towards the Main Stand. Wouldn't have fancied standing there if the terracing had a similar slope :drowning:

Anyone remember the Spion Kop / HR

I'm sure I've read somewhere the Kop held 17,000 in its' heyday. Looking at the shape of it, I guess it was impossible to put a roof on it.

Fantastic pic anyway Bob, the Kop looks bloody massive from this angle.

Anyone remember the Spion Kop / HR

Unless my eyes are completely shot, I can't see any floodlights so it's before 1953. The Crows Nest was built I think just before the war...so sometime between these two dates.
