    George Floyd

Exactly. He’s going to end up inciting a civil war because the polls look bad for him. The sad thing is people will start droning on about “the radical left” and he may actually benefit. At the moment I think he’s being shown up for the massive dickhead he is but not sure how long that will last.

I don’t disagree but what point are you trying to make? That he can’t tarnish Gove or boost the others because we are in a post truth era of politics?

It’s a good point. Initially we saw support for the government surge, effect of a crisis, but as the public see the way it’s been handled it’s dropping. Still, long way until an election. A change in leader, some bad publicity of labour, memories of the pandemic fade and it wouldn’t surprise me...

The Gove stuff is true but I don’t think it would keep him on. Plenty of ways he could tarnish Gove or boost Raab or Sunak.

What have ratings got to do with it? Aside from the ambition I don’t think he wants the job or can be arsed to do it and will be doing the after dinner speaking circuit as soon as he can, as you suggested yourself. He won’t go before Brexit is “done” though and as he has zero sense of...

Nobody is saying it wasn’t to prevent an uncontrollable peak. They are simply explaining why we are more likely to see a second peak when other countries are yet to - because we are opening up with way more cases in the community.

Taking into account the current R number, the reports of the independent SAGE group, the stats for daily deaths, the issues with the track and trace processes, the public trust levels after the Cummings saga and the limited help and guidance for schools and workplaces, it is very hard to believe...

I don’t think it was premeditated just once it was out they can use it as a diversion and make the best of it. They do it all the time. Like I said earlier, with constant incompetence and scandal there is always something else to move onto and they’re never really held to account for...

Yup. The good side of overwhelming incompetence, failure and scandal is that there is always a new fuck up to distract from the last one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Again I’m not saying it was the reason. My original point was that it was one small factor. It’s fine that you want try and distract from it because it makes you uncomfortable and that you want to do the job hundreds of young people are paid to do in Russia for free and trot out various...

Summed odd the other day when they said the R was 0.7 - 1 but were planning to open schools and shops. I’m sure previously, when setting out the road map of steps, the R was the same and they said we can’t do anything yet as we’re too close to 1? (Which also seems obvious). Sent from my iPhone...

We fortunate in that the Mueller report uncovered a lot of the stuff that had been hidden. As you say, we might never see the report over here but that has forced the social media companies to start taking some action at least. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Exactly. The Russian Internet Research Agency was literally creating communities and groups on Facebook and organising physical demonstrations of those communities in the US. To say it had no effect or call it a conspiracy is laughable. A glance at Twitter U.K. political discourse and it’s easy...
