I'm sure it will be similar, because it remains my take on this subject, although I didn't actually refer back to whatever I wrote before. If there was a prize for repetition on here, you’d be somewhere near the top of the Premier League. Sorry if you recognised something from 2 years ago :)...

Ricoh events and Wasps ticket outlet

I'm sure I read that in recent years at Adams Park, 80% of Wasps STH's were from the Wycombe area, so in effect they'd already turned over their support from one place to another. I realise that two wrongs don't make a right, and moving to Coventry was basically a second offence. But it tends...

Ricoh events and Wasps ticket outlet

It's a fair point - although I have to say that it took me precisely half a second to decide that I wouldn't go to games in Northampton, even though Mr. Fisher presumed I would. That boycott by the vast majority of City supporters was in itself a protest, and it kicked in on day one.

The protests against Northampton weren't fancy notions about being opposed to franchised sport. It was much simpler - Coventry City have to play in Coventry. Strange that you can so easily dismiss the march in Cov and the season-long hill protests by CCFC fans. Yet you endlessly argue a moral...

I’ve never been in the “hate Wasps” camp, but I’m always willing to be persuaded by proper arguments / evidence, and the list of comments you posted is quite distressing – thanks for unearthing them CD, because I had looked in vain a few times for such stuff on the web. It’s never nice to see...

    Another Wasps payday bonanza..

The Telegraph says "It will be the highest level of the sport to be played in the city", so I presume they mean Rugby League, or maybe Rugby as a whole? Can't help thinking that some people keep looking for spin when it isn't there.

    Phillips: new contract or not?

50 games in the first team, and how many games at all the other levels? Better judges than me clearly regard him as a full back, and they're the ones who make the decisions. And presumably Phillips himself thinks that's his best position. But it doesn't stop me having a different opinion -...

    Phillips: new contract or not?

For me he's been playing out of position his entire career. Not agile or quick enough off the mark to be a full back, but I still like him and he’d make a neat holding midfield player IMO.

And realistically, neither Phillips nor Ricketts is a wing back. For me, there were too many square pegs in round holes. Enjoyable game though.

Coventry Bears playing at the Ricoh

That’s exactly what I was thinking NW, except I’m not sure it’s really just the “summer”. Doesn’t the season start in February or something? When so much energy is spent on here arguing about aspects of Wasps which shouldn’t really matter to us, I’m amazed that this isn’t being questioned...

Coventry Bears playing at the Ricoh

We are delighted that the Coventry Bears want to play one...

Genuine question :) Is that 4 different players, or were you just referring to Adam Armstrong?

    Thoughts

Yes. For Joy, Coventry City Football Club is like a tatty old Premium Bond tucked away in the back of her kitchen drawer. She gave someone £40 million for it on a drunken night out, and now the only thing she can do is hope that its number comes up, even though the odds are vanishingly slim.

    Bassala Sambou

It's really hard, but in these last few months I've started to take that on board. Hanging on to the best youngsters is going to be almost impossible. Let's not forget that we all get excited when we see a chance to grab a talented player from even further down the pyramid. That's how it...

Tony's response (at #131) to what Grendel said makes perfect sense, including his use of negatives. And you pull him up on his grammar with this convoluted gobbledygook?

Mirror Article - Most misery since 1992

Maybe a march to the Mirror’s HQ is called for? Questions in Parliament? Pompey and Wimbledon fans have had as much despair as us, but it’s quite obvious they’ve also had loads more to cheer than we have. We’ve worked bloody hard for this title for at least a quarter of a century, and we...

Mirror Article - Most misery since 1992

You're right - that's what it now says! Yet 10 minutes ago I can assure you that it said "Misery figurehead : Stadium Manager ACL" (Weeman saw it too). Yippee - another 3 days of arguments about why the article was changed, why it blames SISU so explicitly, why it calls them "former owners"...
