I don't normally bother with this kind of comment, but what the hell? Whoooppeeeee !! PS I'm a natural pessimist. Would anybody else settle for a point at this stage?

    Armstrong here for the season

Fair enough, I did find it a bit strange. I was fooled by the phrase "However, the Magpies have inserted a recall clause into Armstrong’s temporary deal with the Sky Blues". Journalists love to make everything sound like news don't they?

    Armstrong here for the season

Great news, but the newly-inserted 24-hour recall is potentially a problem. Can't complain though, they are letting us have a brilliant striker for the season. If Cole and Bigi sign on permanently that would be good news too - especially Bigi, who I think could be superb if he can get fully...

Arsenal and Liverpool in race to sign James Maddison (Independent)

Nice little feature about Maddison on the official website, had me smiling in places: http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/feature-james-maddison-coventry-city-league-one-2876286.aspx I think he’ll play for England, hopefully while still with CCFC. Not sure about odds of 1/8 though. Edit: I...

    Best City XI of all-time - LM/LW

Hutch will obviously win this part of the poll, and I do have marvellous memories of watching him play. But just to be contrary, I'll go for Steve Hunt, who had more end product in terms of goals and quality crosses.

Arsenal and Liverpool in race to sign James Maddison (Independent)

£5m is nothing like enough, he could be worth multiples of that in future IMO. Wilson is a depressing comparison to make - it was obvious at the time he was worth so much more than £3m. We struggle to get fair value for our players, because we show too much readiness to let them go. If the...

    Best Ever Christmas Match ?

Cheers for the link Ken, I haven't seen that in 30 years! Definitely the most entertaining game I've ever seen. Most of the actual goals weren't that spectacular, but I remember it was open football for 90 minutes, end to end stuff with great shots and saves, and the woodwork hit several...

    Chris Anderson interview

Put this Chris Anderson interview together with the various things said by CRFC, Coventry United and Wasps, and you get a picture that is as clear as mud. Seems like everyone in playing mind games, so best to wait until something concrete is announced. However, my overall feeling from...

    Announcement ?

Clearly another typo, but do you mean you have been in the clubhouse, or you were born in the clubhouse? If the latter, your mum must have been a big rugby fan :)

    Player ratings

Like Otis, I can't argue with any of that. 6 is about right for Bigi, but it was 8 in the first half and 4 in the second when he tired, which maybe cost us two points because we completely lost control of the match.
