    D Day Today

Yep I agree, I'd like a few of "our own" to stay on as squad players and keep a identity and show a pathway to the next crop coming up. However we do need to rebuild for the here and now, we simply have to try and bounce back as quickly as possible and that means competing asap

    Ian Evatt

I'd rather Nathan Clarke who is the same type of player and a few years younger

    Sordell v Beavon

Very hard, in the summer there are vast amounts of players available but come January it's slim pickings. Last summer off the back of a season where we just missed out we could of been getting league one players and offering 2 year deals selling the project. We missed the boat, yes the budget...

    Sordell v Beavon

It's hard at this level, every penny has to be spent wisely. I believe you build in the summer and strengthen in the January window in a ideal world. Anything less your chasing your tail. With the loan window no more it's very very unforgiving if your summer don't go well. We've found out the...

    Sordell v Beavon

I do like these games... lol. A lot was made of the out of window signing of yakubu which was poor but let's not forget lateef Elford-Alliyu and the not popular MAF at the time, Henderson during open windows and loan windows. I think it's safe to say all managers get it wrong from time to time...

Ok that's not quite how I mean, but we went with the youth route this year and equally failed as badly.

    League one/two released players 2017

Hes far from the player he was and seems to have a bit of size about him these days. His more recent stats are 13 goals in 62 league one appearances since 2015, and 2 in 20 league appearances this season. Better than Tudgay tho since 2015!

    League one/two released players 2017

May be of interest to some to add clubs released players here to see who's available this summer and out of contract. Chesterfield announced the following released. Manager Gary Caldwell announced on Friday that Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Dan Jones and Angel Martinez would be leaving the club. The...

Both contracted to 2019, one of them would be ideal. Akinde has a knack of scoring but has a rather lazy playing style. If he didn't score early on fans here would be on him fast...

    D Day Today

I do hope we go the tried and tested route, players with that physical for a change. I'm fed up with watching us coming off second best in individual duels. Looking forward to see the released list

    Sordell v Beavon

Agreed. [emoji106] Opens up a new can of worms as to why the man who signed him as a striker played him wide of the front 3 not the middle man or as a pair. Bit like Slade playing Turnbull as s left back. A season of strange decisions...

    Sordell v Beavon

Let's not slip back down this road... Sordell never came with a recent history of goals and the squad around him wasn't good enough to help with the service. The story of the season. Maybe under MR he'd of done better? Who knows now.

    Sordell v Beavon

It is fact that we've struggled for goals all season but I don't really think Marvin Sordell would of dented that stat much. He did only score 4 league goals in 20 league games and really don't think he'd of broke 10 league goals over the season. He was a player very short on confidence tho had...

    D Day Today

It's usually within the days after the last game but the rules say they have till the 3rd Saturday in May to say they intend to keep there registration. I'm guessing we will find out by Wednesday at the latest. Ive a feeling there will be some surprises with a lot leaving.

Match Thread Scunthorpe v Coventry Match Thread - Sunday 30th Apr

I guess we will get a idea at full time who's likely staying and going, players usually have there meeting with the manager too the coming days after the last game.

    Leyton Orient

Seems that way from clips I've seen. A bit pointless but Colchester are a team in contention for the playoffs so a outcome was needed and a abandoned verdict with points and goal difference would of been unfair on the other teams going for the playoffs.
